  1. No reply to my question regarding the process for facelift models? Indicator bulb is in a different position compared to the mk3, and I can't see any obvious way to get at it.
  2. Bit of bump here, but is the process the same for the MK3 facelift, ie. near impossible? I note that the indicator bulb is in a different position on mine compared to the pictures from OP - mine appears to be in its own housing underneath the headlight, in the inner section of the headlight. 3. Wouldn't that depend on the depth of your speakers - also, if the adapters are 36mm deep, what is the total possible speaker depth? Thanks for this link. Translation is a bit sketchy, but gives much the same info as other 'build' threads here and on other forums.
  4. Good morning from Australia, experts. Hoping someone will be able to assist with providing info on the standard mounting depth for front speakers in a 2019 Octavia, and then, what the maximum mounting depth achievable with a custom speaker ring/baffle is, without fouling on either the glass or factory door grille. I've got all the pieces lined up for a stereo upgrade except the speakers. The mounting depth limits will determine just which speakers are suitable (ie. I don't want to buy something that has a depth of 90+mm if they simply aren't going to fit). Cheers.
  5. Safety features should be standard; Front parking sensors Blind spot alert Lane keep alert Rear cross-traffic alert I would add LED headlights as a 'safety' feature, too Keyless start should be standard these days Wireless AA/Carplay LED interior lighting should really be standard these days - globes cost sweet FA Better isolation from road noise Gas struts on the bonnet
  6. Hello everyone, I'm from Australia and have just signed for a brand new MY20 Octavia wagon, in quartz grey. This will be my first Skoda, though I have swooned over the Occy since around 2014. Coming from a 2007 Ford Focus TDCi with 6sp manual transmission, I was actually hoping to buy a manual Octavia, but unlike many parts of Europe, manuals are extremely rare down here with new cars 😞 I actually had the contract for the "last base-spec manual in the country" emailed through to me to sign, but sadly it was sold through another Skoda dealership interstate before I had a chance to sign and return the contract. Skoda AUS came to the party, so to speak, and have since offered me a DSG equivalent for the same price (a $2500 "upgrade" as they put it). I've accepted and will get 18" Alaris wheels, tints, carpet mats, 7 years warranty and 3 years free servicing, so a pretty decent deal in the end. Unfortunately, with the current COVID situation, Melbourne is in "stage 4" lockdowns which prevents the dealership from having new cars transported from the docks...so I won't be seeing my new car for at least 3 weeks. Very excited though, my Focus was close to being a new car (only had 15,000kms on it when I bought it) and has given me 12 years and 220,000kms of relatively trouble-free motoring. Hopefully I get just as good an experience with the new Octavia!!
