  1. Holy moly I didn't even notice that what the f*** is all that about. They actually put white on one side of the car. What the f*** is this all about?
  2. Couldn't have wished for a better response. Excellent! You are a genius!
  3. Exactly what I was thinking. It must be done for some tax reason. They have detuned a 2 L engine. I presume it's the same block as the 2 L suburb engine. Just remind me what is the 4.0 that is kicking out 203 break horsepower. Is that also 2 L engine save his me looking it up. Bloody confusing. Thanks mate
  4. Audi A4 advant 2 L that engine I was looking at it should be 190 break horsepower but is advertised at 148 horsepower. Has it been electronically? Detuned to get into the tax brand for the UK but still the same engine they would put more or less in the Skoda. Superb 2 L which is kicking you out 190 horsepower
  5. Autotrader 2. L. Audi engine power 140 brake horsepower 2. L. TFSI 35 black edition if you go into performance 0.60. 8.9 seconds and the brake horsepower is definitely 148 break horsepower, I thought it would be the same engine roughly has the Skoda superb 2 l petrol which I think is kicking out 190 break horsepower just something that puzzled me. I thought I'd ask being that it would be the same engine. I've looked at a few numerous adverts on older trader with the 2 l Audi engine comes the same
  6. Ok then. So it's just done to get under certain regulations in certain countries. So this engine should be capable of at least 180 break horsepower just like the superb but done deliberately to get under tax regulations in the UK I thought it would be something like that but then just needed it confirmed. Would you know if the latest Skoda Octavia engines have gone to a wet belt and if they have what engines hopefully they haven't. Just a curious question
  7. I have a general question about a 2 l Audi engine which would be the same as a Skoda VW Passat Audi A4 my question is why is the 2 l in the Audi petrol engine only 150 break horsepower where as the superb 2 l is 190 break horsepower? I'm just curious why has Audi d tuned that engine? Is that not the same engine in the superb? Just a general question. I thought VW shared all its same engines in all four manufacturers
  8. Jesus Christ, am I seeing that right? It's going to cost $1,100 just to do a camboat and water pump because there's a special tool that is outrageous. Good job. They've got a few years on them before they go. Wouldn't be a big problem. My son is a mechanic but what I f****** rip off
  9. Publicbosed up my response but thanks for the input. On what you think I would probably do the same but visually inspected once a year as I will be only doing 4 .5,000 miles a year. Obviously technology has got better over the years
  10. Let's help. I'm doing this right. Thanks for the input. Exactly what I was thinking. Probably less. I would be only doing 4,500 miles a year. Isn't it amazing how we have been ripped off over the years but yes annual inspection. Thanks buddy Thank you for the input
  11. Always have trouble on replies. Anyway, give it another go. Thank you for the input. So you guys are reckoning it's a bit of a scam to do it 4 or 5 years but this is a great bitter news. Probably won't hang on now if a car drives ok. Thank you for the input. Let's all by get this right now
  12. That is excellent news. Thank you for the input. I understand then it was just a rip off Vauxhall used to do it every 4 5 years peace of mind! Thank you for the import. Most helpful
  13. Sorry mate 1.5 petrol bit new to these forums but have helped
  14. Bobby, I've got to put that in. It's a 1.5 petrol vehicle. Has only done 14, 000 in mint condition but obviously sometimes they can deteriorate even if they're not been used. I'm very unfamiliar with this type of engine. I know on vauxhalls it was every 4 years
  15. Hi guys going to look at a Skoda super that has done 14,000 mi and is a 2019. My question here is should I ask for money off when it comes to the cam belt and water pump being replaced? Not sure the longevity of these items vehicle has done. Not a lot of mileage? 2. Should you be looking at changing auxiliary belts and tensioners all, are they something that will last a long time? Thanks guys!
  16. Think with all you guys input and also watching this latest video I've made my decision. Unless it is a ZF box with a taught converter I'm going to buy a manual. Superb! Less hassle DSG seem to be problematic. I suppose they will sort the problem out with the new boxes but I presume it's just the design of this particular box and it's for runners. Thank you for all help
  17. It looks like it think I'm going to be heading down that route. Whole thing is bloody confusing now if you look at a ZF box. Nobody ever complaints but thank you for input guys. Much appreciated Machu appreciated to everybody that help me in my dilemma. Looks like I might head down the route of buying a manual
  18. Thank you very much for reply. Definitely food for thought. A bit woriring isn't it when they make something that's rubbish but then confuse the issue with what you should be going for and what is already out there now. I am thinking staying with a manual box
  19. Excellent! That does help finding it a bit difficult how to work out to reply to people. Maybe I've got this wrong but we give it a go
  20. Excellent! That does help Excellent, that does help. Thank you very much for the import
  21. Hi guys, nice to be back on the forum. After a horrifying crash, Skoda was smashed the pieces. Lucky to be alive running around in a Corsa now I'm thinking of buying a brand new 2 l sport line. Superb. Can somebody tell me a age old question don't hate me is this gearbox in the 2 l petrol going to be dry 7. Speed or wet 7. Speed and is there a way of identifying it without jacking up the car which I would probably do at a dealership just to ask them to prove it? I know it's a bit extreme but don't want to buy a 7-speed dry clutch, but I think I am writing thinking 1.5 engine and under 150 brake horsepower would Daphne be the seven-speed dry? Please advise would be really helpful or any other hints you can give me. The car I would be buying would be the last of the suburbs before the new one comes out. Probably get a good deal but if all else fails I will go for a 1.5 manual. Superb instead. Do not want the dreaded 7-speed dried clutch gearbox
  22. One last question why do they still make a 6-speed surely a seven-speed would be the box that the manufacturer would go on into the future and then maybe innate speed later or is the 6 speed for something like a one liter to a 1.5 liter and the seven speed is for two liter onwards thanks you have made it a lot clearer for me
  23. Thank you for information lime me I only thought there was two types seems to be a lot of codes I am presuming last few codes would be the one that I would be interested in ie 1.9 break horsepower married with that particular gearbox coding how do you know what gearbox code is in what vehicle when you come to purchase it I am presuming seven speed is the one that would come in the two litre
