DSG 6 speed or seven speed
Hi guys going to ask a question of superb owners 2 L petrol 190 brake horsepower does this particular version come with a 6 speed wet I believe all does it become with a seven-speed dry gearbox sorry I'm very new to DSG gearboxes have always driven manuals but I thinking of buying this particular Skoda in the 2 L version and brake horsepower maybe a very very low mileage one but i have heard horror stories about DSG gearboxes I would probably go for a 20 or 21 plate something around the 6,000 to 10,000 mile range nothing higher I believe the 2 L does not come with a manual gearbox all input would be welcome

DSG gearboxes reliability
Hi guys now I've been driving manuals for the last 40 years but I want to make a shift to to automatic gearboxes obviously a gearbox I'm thinking about is called a DSG now is the DSG in the vRS (((mechanically the same as the one in the 1.5 Octavia )))))))or are there two Pacific gearboxes depending on the power requirement of the engine so basically you have your basic grocery getter and then you have your little sportia car or am I getting his completely wrong or is there just automatic gearbox throughout the whole VW Audi Skoda seat family and are these pretty reliable if you pick up up a model that has not done a lot of miles obviously servicing is a matter that would have to be done at the proper time I'm always been afraid of auto boxes but I thought I'd get your guys input because I am getting a lot older now and do not need to race around like I used to 2

Thanks for all the help and it's maybe goodbye
Thanks for the advice yes it was a bit of a moment in life does make you think life is precious one foot to the right I would have been fatal just to manage to turn left the last I am driving my son's BMW but an ultra vigilant I'm going to go and get a bit of a banger for a while not like me I have been very very very OCD about my cars FOR years yes the company Factor airbags and seatbelt with trainers help in the crash could have been a lot worse hopefully will be getting back in the saddle soon

Thanks for all the help and it's maybe goodbye
Thanks buddy this is why I like the Skoda community and I also like the Skoda manufacturer this forum is great as helped all that lot as I was a Vauxhall man for 36 years now now love the shape of the skodas just damn damn damn shame I lost my baby first crash I've had since I've been driving and I've been driving a long time yes true Testament to car safety car was annihilated passengers all walked out without minor injuries PS I hit another Skoda which was stationary on a motorway yes I have been looking at the VRS as well life is too short once again thank you for reply let you know what happens

Thanks for all the help and it's maybe goodbye
Hi thanks for all the help over the year and a half when I had my Skoda Octavia se 1.5 special black trim with a silver body just to report car was totally annihilated it in a collision on the 25th of March totally gutted only had 5,250 miles and was kept in OCD condition gutted full airbag deployment and seatbelt deployment cracked rib cage that's just one of the injuries of the Passengers myself car absorbed all the impact but was structurally annihilated but saved us might get another Skoda Octavia but my question as I'm leaving how different mechanically and engine wise is a 1.5 Skoda Superb been looking at the Sportline p.s. got all my money back I paid I had gap insurance but still very unhappy about losing my baby once again thanks everyone hopefully I will be back with another Skoda😎

Paint coating
In your opinion do you think the Wheels on the Octavia that come from the factory are actually powder-coated all are these some kind of spray what do they refer to as Tupac the wheels are 2019 denom 17 I know sometimes it is very hard to get the touch up paint just for the wheels this what makes me suspicious that is some form of powder coating

Paint coating
- Paint coating
Excellent response much appreciated- Paint coating
All the coatings on the alloy wheels order Skoda Octavia and I'm assuming all the other models mine being silver and the wheel is a denim 17 if I remember correctly the name are these painted or are they powder coated from the factory- Batteries for key fob
Would you recommend a 2020 or do you think a2032 two if I can get it in there thanks for the heads up- Batteries for key fob
Top information I didn't know that so are you saying that is possible to squeeze a 32-in there- Batteries for key fob
Hi guys need to change a battery on the key fob mark 3 Octavia dash is saying battery low my question is 2020 or 2032 I believe one of these is the one that you put in in which comes from the factory I think it's the 20 but can a 32 be squeezed in there as well and would that give me a bit longer without keep changing batteries every couple of years I do rotate my keys every 4 months advice would be helpful and is there a recommended battery manufacturer that will give me a longer life- Engine coolant specification
Just on a engineering standpoint should we do this from the day the vehicle was manufactured all the 9 month interval from when I purchased it brand new what would your advice be- Engine coolant specification
How long does the cambelt last should it be changed every 4 years 5 years or Pacific mileage ! On VAG engines as we were going to be in there to do the cambelt I would have thought it was a good idea to change the water pump at same time I understand 1.5 l petrol engines have a auxiliary water pump as well did not know it was on the other side of the engine I suppose they never to be changed- Engine coolant specification
Fantastic response didn't know that but I'm happy to know it now I suppose in 5 years of ownership and only doing 3500 miles a year I suppose I'm looking at a cambelt police auxiliary belt thermostat and Waterpump change in 2024 August or is that going to be ( too long ) 🤨 being that it's been used for shorter journeys the date of the vehicle rolling off the assembly line was the,,, 1st of the 10th 2019 ,,,,the data off purchasing of vehicle was the 1st of the 8th 2020 she probably sat in a storage field for that length time only doing 11 miles in the storage period obviously this affect the coolant break up and the silicone in the cam belts being attacked by ozone or am I getting too bloody technical and most of all thank you for the input- Engine coolant specification
Hi guys I have a question not that it needs to be topped up at all all but for the future do I put in G12 engine coolant all G13 engine coolant being very new to the VW part and specification am I right in thinking that G13 is now replaced with G12 va in my 2019 manufactured Skoda Octavia 1.5 petrol second part to the question if I do get a bottle of engine coolant should I buy a bottle that is neat or that is already mixed or is that a irrelevant question as what I will be giving is what it should should be used in the vehicle just to top it up maybe every six months with my old Vauxhall I used to mix my own concentrated with 3 L of distilled water but obviously the Octavia is a totally different vehicle thank you for all input sorry to be a pain PS I will be purchasing it from TPS or should I go straight to my local Skoda dealership- AC activation
Hi guys I have a little question for you which is sort of puzzling me when I turn the heater system on and obviously it will run from let's say 17 to 26 27 c to maximum or high as it is on the actual LED ring on the switch why does the AC light come on even though I've got the temperature at High but I have noticed if I press the recycle button which I presume stops air from coming inside even on the coldest days the light goes off what am I missing please explain it is obviously something to do with that recycle button which stops air from outside- Antifreeze
Thanks that does help so change the water pump after 5 years and timing belt and all the rest of it is there a mileage restriction on it- Antifreeze
Hi guys just wanted to know how long does the antifreeze coolant last in the Skoda from the factory as I understand it these antifreeze coolant can last a few years just thought that ask and should I get a antifreeze tester as well- Light configuration
Thanks bud I did assume so but had to have somebody actually confirm yes some of the things are a bit confusing I also think some of these things in the car that assist the driver are unnecessary thank you once again- Light configuration
Hi guys I am a bit confused with the lighting arrangements on the Skoda where it says light assist in the multifunctional screen on the centre console there is a ((( switch on time ))) when you press it a box appears with , early ,medium , late what does this function do , I thought it was if you wanted the lights to come on on when it was getting darker on the auto setting so if it wasn't so dark it come on a little bit later and if it was dark it would come on earlier but I'm a bit confused because somebody just straighten me out out thanks guys- Fuel cleaning agent
Excellent bit of information thank you I will try and stick to Tesco's petrol and give it a good blast of the motorway every once in awhile- Fuel cleaning agent
Excellent thanks for the knowledge always good to hear from you- Fuel cleaning agent
Thank you for the advice I have always tried to follow so a good engineering aspect in my years of driving and understanding how engines work but just wanted somebody to clarify what I was thinking of doing totally agree always warming engine up and always let it cool down especially now with modern turbocharged engines much appreciated - Paint coating
