Goodbye red and hello blue
Goodbye red and hello blue. Been a while since I posted on the forum. It’s goodbye to my red 1.5 tsi sportline and hello racing blue 2.0 tsi sportline. In short, Skoda emailed me last week (12/08/25) offering new car for less than I’m paying now. I replied no as I wanted a 2.0 tsi. Then I received a call offering me a brand new 2.0 TSI in race blue; sportline edition. £45 less a month than I’m paying now. Clearly I said yes and I picked the new car up yesterday(20/08/25). I will miss the red car and it’s excellent fuel economy too but after a 2000 mile European road trip and some very steep hills I fancied the 2.0 tsi and 4x 4 version. It’s more refined, less stress. The fuel economy will be down on the 1.5 and that the tax will be much higher but my man-maths says that the money I’ve saved off the list price makes this easier to accept(better deals on new cars than used ) As standard the sportline edition comes with DCC, progressive steering(??), heated rear seats, some weird parking camera views and heated screens. Pretty good. Insurance is an extra £5.57 a month, not too bad. In the 23k travelled had to replace a punctured tyre and oil sump broke. Made the car sound like a tractor briefly before dying. Fixed under warranty. Am quite pleased with new purchase and even like the fake engine noise.

Nearly 2 years of ownership.
Seems to be hit and miss. Good examples and not bad ones, just flawed( but we love them anyway). Love phoenix orange colour.

Not great service at all. Back to VW for you?

Nearly 2 years of ownership.
Hi. In the same boat! The oil pump broke two part around it. Dashboard lit up like it was Christmas and car sounded like a lorry. I have the DSG . Two other people have a Tiguan and Superb. They have creaks too.

Nearly 2 years of ownership.
Hello. Been a while. My red karoq sportline is nearly 2 years old. 16500 miles and is off again to France again his week. I also drive my wife's cupra born v2 regularly. Plus points: 1- It's red. Not many red skodas around 2-Average fuel economy is 47mpg. I don't drive fast nor slow. Normal driving 3-Good space for kids and boot decent size 4-Well specced as standard. I added red, ACC and spare wheel. I would add winter pack next time 5-Quick enough if you are in the mood on a decent road and no wife or kids 6-Love the pan roof. 7- Front seats are comfy and supportive. Not so good: 1) Oil pump broke causing car to go into engine failure. Covered under warranty. 2) Storage lid on dash vibrates at 1500 rpm. it is blue tacked shut. Couldn't face Skoda investigations and then saying is intermittent. 3) Consistent vibration from passenger front door panels. Is very quiet but annoying. I just turn stereo up! 4) Back board rattles. The fix... Backboard lives in the garage not the car. 5) Car connects to wife's phone over mine. 6) No traction if driving quick from stationary. Wheels spin. 7) obviously an ICE car isn't slick as an EV. On the whole I'm pleased with my car. Is good family transport and apart from build quality issues( which seems common). Am looking to change to a newer used car; either kodiaq sportline or Octavia vrs estate. Depend on deals and equity in my car(if any😞). Thanks for reading.

From memory the red paint was £390 extra as I was buying sportline spec. Bargain!

I really like Phoenix orange. My wife hated it. Compromise was red.

10 months update-Karoq sportline 1.5dsg
Hello. I’ve had this car for nearly 10 moths now and covered 10,000 miles. Overall I’m happy with the Karoq and glad I purchased it. Especially the 1.5 TSI engine which is economical. Around town 38-42mpg and longer journeys have seen upto 52mpg. I still find the car to be good to look at, it’s red and I haven’t seen any other red sportlines in my area. Rare colour or not a popular colour? Last year we did two European road trips(hence the miles!) across France, Germany, Belgium, and Holland and despite having only 148bhp compared to my last Karoq(2.0 TSI 187bhp) I had no issues. Likes- The colour Economy is good Performance is good above 20mph Spacious Comfortable Practical Panoramic roof Good to drive Standard specification, specifically Dislikes- Same panel rattle as I had on last Karoq, passenger front door. Intermittent and only slightly annoying. DSG box at low speed. Very sluggish gearbox. Although performance is good and more than adequate(for a 1.5 TSI engine) I’ve been driving my wife’s Cupra Born V2 for the last two weeks, I haven’t driven the Karoq until today when she decided she wanted to use her own car…bit cheeky!). Getting back into the Karoq I do miss the power and urgency of the Cupra. Nothing else

Colour Choice
Hello. I previously owned a black karoq sport line. Looked great when clean. But showed dirt and scratches (wife v bush-bush won). Now have velvet red karoq . I think red shows dirt less.

New car.
Thanks for that Surrey John. Didn't even occur to me to change the tyres! I see how much this bothers me.

New car.
September won't be too far away. I think the standard system is ok. There is a lack of bass that's all compared to the Canton. Was not an option so had no choice in the matter.

New car.
That is impressive MPG. Glad you are happy with the car. I don't really like the Sagittarius alloys. Vegas look better I think. I need to find some time without family and find a good road.

New car.
Three years already! It been nearly 3 years since I purchased my 2.0TSI Karoq Sportline and the time had come for us to part ways. I did want a Kodiaq but could only afford a 2 year old model. A 2.0 TSI Sportline base spec was around 42K. Wife dislikes the Octavia and the Superb when I sat in it was nice but was too big. For me to buy a new 2.0 TSI I was looking at just over 40K with options(adaptive cruise control, virtual dash, spare wheel, red paint) Canton was not on the option list anymore. So I test drove a 1.5 TSI DSG(148BHP V 187BHP) and was surprised, it didn’t feel that much slower on the motorway but 0-60 is 9 seconds rather than 6.8 seconds. Could I live with this performance after 187 BHP? At 44 years old am I still deep down a bit of a boy racer? I ordered the car in at the end of January and I picked my new car up on the 19/04/23. List price £35k with options(DSG, virtual dash, Red, adaptive cruise and spare wheel), although when I picked the car up the price would be now £37400, there was a price increase on the 03/04/23 across the Skoda. The very helpful salesman(Jonny @ Winchester Skoda) advised every Kodiaq now is above 40K and all would be in the higher car tax bracket. Scary. I had no deposit either so used the equity in my car as a deposit, plus there was a contribution of £1750 from Skoda. What do I miss about my old car: I don’t drive like a hooligan but if you accelerate from a stand still quickly the wheels spin, downside of FWD rather than 4WD I suppose I miss the fake engine noise, the 1.5 TSI sounds strained upon acceleration Canton. Was very good sounding system and very bass heavy. What I don’t miss: Creaking dashboard, intermittent of course! Long runs I could achieve on average 41 MPG but that would be driving at 70MPH, if I wanted to have fun on a back road this dipped to 17 MPG New car likes: Android auto is wireless. Is a lighter car, feels lighter to drive. 2.0 TSI felt heavy and very SUV like. 1.5 TSI feel more like a hatchback. Fuel economy, after 100 miles driven this week my average is 40MPG without even trying. There are little subtle changes to the interior, steering wheel and controls. Feels more solid than my old car Easy to drive It’s RED, I love red cars and have received a few positive comments about the car already. When I was collecting the car a bloke enquired about how much it was and how the colour really ‘popped’ 5 insurance groups lower , cheaper to insure. New car dislikes: 19 inch wheel look tiny, I think there is too much space between the wheel and the body, am just nit-picking really. That’s it. I'm very pleased with my car and looking forward to driving many more miles in it.

New car
Am in pleased with karoq. Wanted a sportline kodiaq but realistically can't afford it. Octavia vrs was more money also. I would honestly say the sound in normal karoq matches the system in my wife's focus(snap!). The focus has slightly more bass though.

New car
My aim was to pay no more money per month and use value in current car with deposit contribution from Skoda. This was successful. Canton is fab. Standard system sounds rubbish in comparison ( no bass. Tinny) but I appreciate I was lucky to have Canton anyway. Not a deal breaker but I will really miss it. Not the worst problem to have🤣. Is not available to order.

New car
Toot. Is Factory build from new , I thought the wait would be longer. They say 14 weeks, we'll see!

New car
Both are great looking colours. Good choice.

New car
Yup. Back to front wheel drive. At no point in ownership have I needed all the bhp nor 4 wheel drive. New car is red though!

New car
The time has come. Nearly 3 years of 2.0tsi sportline due to end as on PCP agreement. Test drove 1.5 Tsi dsg. Was satisfied with performance compared to owning 187bhp Tsi. Fuel economy was much better despite my best efforts during test drive! Had to make decision. Ordered 1.5 dsg in velvet red. Losing Canton and some bhp but think I've made the right decision. 14 weeks to wait.

Karoq sportline 2.0 tsi
Skoda Karoq 2.0 TSI Sportline 11 month review After 11 months of ownership of my Karoq I thought I would write a quick review. I’m very pleased with the car overall, covering 5300 miles in 11 months has been pretty good motoring. Negative points: Few bits of interior trim are loose, the plastic surrounding the digital dash rattles (a lot) and the passenger door panel as well. Not the worst issues but will be sorted out by Skoda when the car is serviced in 3 weeks Small fuel tank Pumped in engine noise in sports mode sounds rubbish Pointless ECO mode, why? Makes no difference at all. Positive points: Fuel economy, around town, 33 mpg. Drove from Southampton to Essex few days ago and average was …..45.9 MPG , mixed driving too! I think this is good Car looks great in black and does get admired on occasions Great specification, my next car will need a pan roof, electric boot and canton, oh Karoq you have spoiled me! The car is spacious, front, rear and the boot Suspension provides a good ride, firm but still comfortable Basic looking interior but still looks good Interior materials are of a good quality The engine, 187 BHP doesn’t seem alot but you can put all the power down(when needed) because of the 4 X 4. 0-60 is 7 seconds, feels properly quick. On the motor way at 60 MPH if I want to overtake the car is fast. DSG box -manual mode paddles, if you are on the right road for a ‘spirited drive’ the gear change is smooth and quick I will the option soon of changing cars, another Karoq? Maybe in red or blue? I do fancy a VRS Octavia though. The Karoq 2.0 TSI sportline in my opinion is a great car, I can see the merits in the 1.5 petrol and even the 2.0 diesel versions but the 2.0TSI petrol can provide economy and fun.

Sportline 2.0 TSI 4X4 DSG
Thanks Rsrob. I wasn't expecting an eco box in the karoq 2.0 tsi so is reassuring to know I might get more than 27 mpg at some point. Although I have only driven 129 miles in 3.5 weeks! Looking foward to your modifications.

Sportline 2.0 TSI 4X4 DSG
Good evening. I have owned my karow 2.0 tsi for 3 weeks. I love it. Exciting question... What is your fuel economy like? On paper 33mpg. I've not had the chance to properly drive it yet. I went black but your Karoq looks fab.
