  1. Update:- After doing some searches i have come across a AA solar charger that plugs into the OBD2 socket so i am going to buy that, rather than muck about with fuses/cables etc trying to connect to battery.Plus the fact that the OBD2 socket is under the dash just above to the right of the accelerator pedal next to fuse box it will be easy to fit and remove. Thanks for replies.
  2. So it could be just the smell from washer fluid i will check again tomorrow,i do have the front vents set to windscreen for the fan so will try a different position see if that helps if it changes then it will deffo be vapour. Will check the drainage tomorrow if it is not raining. Thanks.
  3. I used the wiper washer this morning and had a smell of windscreen fluid come into the car more or less straight away,I have looked online at the VW up workshop manual to suss out where the pipes are but only shows me they are attached to the jets on the bonnet.I am not loosing any fluid which makes me think that either the glass is not sealed properly so gets into car between the glass and seal cover or it is getting in somewhere else. The car is a 2017 so i do not think drainage channels would be blocked from the plenum chamber to lower wheel arches.Or is this just vapour from the screenwash and not fluid that is getting in through open vents etc. Any suggestions any one.
  4. Will have a look tomorrow, but now i am thinking if it is only a low currant draw ie solar charger i could connect straight to battery and put in a inline rated fuse with wires following the loom going through the bulkhead' i looked at my owners manual and it gives a list of twelve fuses at one end of dash ,2 are un-asigned.That link is the same as what is in my User manual .
  5. I have now had the Citigo for about 2 months now and after driving a VW polo 9N for 5 years i am getting use to the quirks of the car,but i got one dislike and that is the wing mirrors,if i have a car etc following me in the inside mirror the distant looks normal so 40 ft behind me does look like 40ft,however if i look in the wing mirror is gives the illusion the car behind is about 100yds behind which for normal roads is ok but on motorways etc i think it is bit of saftey hazzard is there any other 3rd party mirrors eg Halfords i can fit that will give me a more accurate looking distance.
  6. Ok thanks for the info all of you, On the drivers side end of dash there is a small rectangle which looks like it can be taken out held in by clips or is it the whole end of the dash that needs to be removed? i do not want to find that the rectangle plastic part will not fit back in. It is a low current type not sure but i think there is a glass fuse in the plug IIRC it is 2- 3amp. I thought i could piggy back one of the fuses and connect the socket in sight just under the dash but will velcro it there as i think that will be strong enough for the plug to be held in place ,i do not want to screw or glue it in place.Plus i will only need about 20-30 cm of wire.I think that this is the best option.
  7. My 2017 Colour Edition Citigo only has a power socket which is only live when ignition is on and i need to fit a socket which is live to use a solar battery charger plug.Is there a way to connect one eg. from another live nearby wire or can i use the live boot light wire (if it would work) or is it best to use a connection from the fuse box which i would rather not have to do due to not being a contortionist and lower back problem. If the only option is from the fuse box does anybody know which fuse number it is i would have to use.
  8. Thanks for that info, i think i will order them from VW in Bath found some part numbers just see what there parts department says when i give them the Part numbers and see what they come up with.If there saying £56 for one liner that is £100+ and all the other stuff not sure what it will all cost.
  9. Phoned up VW about ordering some UP! rear liners for my Citigo, only to be told there are two liners one for pre 17 and then the new FL from 20017> now myself i cannot see if there would be any difference accept maybe the three first letters might be different due to manufactoring year. I have looked at the thread about wheel arch liners for the rear but slightly confused about the screws etc needed. Can i just order all the screws etc supplied for the UP!liners ,my Citigo is a 03/2017 so not sure when the FL was introduced so do i order pre 17 or FL liners if there different i enquired about liners for a 2016 production UP! .Oh and Skoda had no info on there system regarding part numbers etc for the citigo liners.VW UP! liners are £56 perside plus screws and plugs/ bolts.
  10. If you mean Auto sensor infront of the rear view i got what looks like mesh, but nothing else ,not sure what that is for, zilch on any dials or switches either.
  11. Typical was not raining this morning, however i tried it on the way to Aldi coming up to Traffic lights, paused till i got going again ,On intermittant they seem to sweep about every 5-7 seconds while driving , will have to suss out what they do when on continous at traffic lights etc I had the above vario feature in my polo 9N will miss that.Over time i will get use to it though ,all the VW 's i have had never done this wiper pausing, first time i have come across it. Variable boot floor is in and now just leaves me with rear wheel arch liners to fit asap.tried my phone in the holder and my Blackberry Motion connected straight away but showed all my contacts so took the phone out ,shame it cannot be swiveled towards mefor my GPS map on my phone however got a sticky disc from Halfords and the blanking part stuck that on so i can use my Garmin 6" 65LM which i can swivel towards me .I use that on my Yamaha 700 with holder ,GPS only cost me £65. Thanks for all the replies.
  12. Not sure if it was on delay or continuous but will be using the car tomorrow morning so will check then and report back. I also got rear creaky suspension but that seems to be partly resolved by putting in the full size spare wheel which Skoda dealer sent me,no stickers on it to say it is a saftey tire though it is on a 14" rim i measured it on the tyre and it is a few millimters out from the 15" wheels, it is a Bridgestone .My 9N polo had creaky OFside rear suspension but only when the weather was hot soon as it rained it disapeared, till it dried out again.
  13. I have just downsized from a 52 plate polo 1.2 9n to a Citigo Colour Edition (White and black alloys) The car is March 2017 reg and at this moment in time finding out about the differences between the two cars etc. However couple of days ago i drove the car out in the rain and found that the wipers stop working when you stop at road juctions etc.For a few seconds i thought i knocked the wiper switch to off but no.I hoping this is not normal ,maybe okay at traffic lights but downright dangerous at other road junctions.I done a search on this and found a old post going back to 2011 but there was no answer to this problem,i also looked at the online user manual and my own but there is no mention of this at all.Does anybody elsewho has a 2017 Colour Edition have this quirk or can it be changed? Hopefully it can.
