  1. Yes you are correct. I went to two dealers for a VW - 1 took 4.5 hours to call me back and the other dealere knew little or nothing about leasing -- so I went to on line broker who understood what I wanted and the deal was struck very quickly and efficiently.. I did not try it with the Skoda because one of the dealers had previously leased me two cards and knew exactly what they were doing.
  2. Yes I am in the UK. I wanted the new Octavia BUT only DSG and basically the car is not available -- I only lease and I was offered one car but the dealer wanted almost £6.000 initial payment and then 200 per month. I said OK it is too too expensive so I will give you a factory order -- he said no, it changes nothing -- they still want nearly £6,000 initial payment. Even then the dealers seemed unable to tell me the build time for the car -- so my logical conclusion was to move across to VW where they gave me better prices and build times.
  3. The dealer said I could go for the factory order but it would not change the nearly £6k up front. Afraid I am quite elderly and VWFS had no flexibility in the nearly £6 k up front whereas VW dealer did
  4. Love my current Octavia but alas the new one was pretty well unobtainable in DSG form. There was ONE car out there somewhere which was offered to me for almost 6.000 down !!!. I was told a factory order would be no different and then they did not even seem to know when one might come along -- the dealers were blaming this rush of new vehicles by Skoda on to the market. I Think it is going to cost Skoda business in this country - I have had a rapid, Yeti, Karoq and Octavia but now have moved across to VW.
