  1. Hi there, I've scoured the forums looking for similar advice, but it doesn't seem to match any of the previous. My 2007 Fabia Estate, has decided to not align the boot lock with the latch. I've tried alignment with the plugs/sliders around the boot but to no avail. I've tried moving the latch up but even as high as it goes it misses the lock. I've looked at the lock but there's no movement to it. I've looked at the hinges but they're rock solid, with no visible sign of movement on the paintwork. I've looked under the rear lining to check the inside too but there's no play their either. I'm completely baffled and stuck with a boot that won't close. Has anyone come across this before and has any tips? Many thanks
  2. I've recently become the owner of a MK1 2007 1.4 Fabia Estate. It all happened in a blur. A week last Monday my turbo blew, on my previous vehicle, on the M180 and ended up seizing the engine. The repair bills were going to be astronomical and under the current economic situation I couldn't afford to go that route. So off to the scrap yard in the sky it went and then I was left looking for a new vehicle. I had a pretty poor budget to work with (I'm a self employed gardener by trade and I've been hit really hard these past months) but I needed something I could get my work gear in and also take my son to school which is 8 miles away. So I got looking on the usual sites and a couple of days later I found a trade seller with a 1.4 Fabia Estate. Full service history, a few miles on the clock but by description a solid car. So I went to look at it, checked it over and was made aware of its good and bad points (although I discovered a few minor more). Understanding what was needing to be done but with the basis of a solid vehicle I decided to get it. So now I'm sorting out all the bits that need doing step by step, and I've discovered this forum, which has been already really useful as a guide to some things and I'm sure it will be going forward. One thing about the car already, which has surprised me, is how good it is at handling, it's responsive, solid and quite reassuring in a low down car (my past few have been 4x4 with height). I'm so far enjoying my experience with Skoda and you never know it may win me over to stay with the range. Anyways, thanks for reading and best wishes to all. Nick
