Hello,
I've ended up here looking for info on a key fob for a Skoda Fabia, MK1, 08 May 2002, so this cracks me up, Before I bought the car the most important thing was "does it lock" yes it does with the key, but not the remote, and also on condition of the sale the windows didn't work, So drops it into a garage for the windows to be fixed and gets the car home and it won't lock using the key, The garage claims "haven't got a clue mate and drop it back of next week some time! (Scum bag) So take it to a new garage and they take the lock apart and say it's the little cast alloy thing that sites behind the lock, but in the mean time they said that they soldered the chip back on the board and they have the key fob working.
GREAT!
So I could use the remote to open and close the car, how ever today, there must have been a dry joint on the key fob remote as no lights working, so I re-soldered the chip and checked and it lights up.
So I guy comes out today to help me and tries the key in the door! BOOM opened, I'm like "wtf" How can that be when the lock mechanism is missing? How ever we can't lock it,
I've tried the couple of suggestions, the one where you turn on the ignition and the one, the guy that was out today tested that the key was transmitting a frequency which it is, So, question, how did the 2nd garage that soldered the chip get the key to pair? I can't seem to do it?
Thanks again .
