  1. I got a word back from my dealer with some actual information finally. Apparently, they had trouble certifying the engine. Literally as of Wednesday it is available again in all configurators. They made some changes to the exhaust system, most probably adding an OPF as the rest of the VAG group. They say the engine would be quieter.
  2. The build week was supposed to be 3 weeks ago. I have now checked and the engine is back on every single configurator (Germany, UK, Bulgaria and CZ) and it was not there yesterday in any of those.
  3. I now see that different manufacturers in the VAG group are doing different things with the engine. VW has gone with adding OPF, which is like DPF but for petrol, Audi has made the engine MHEV and Seat has called it EcoTSI.
  4. Hello, I ordered a superb fl with this engine in October. The car has not yet arrived. I talked to my dealer multiple times but they cant give me any more information and the whole conversation feels evasive. What I see is that engine has been removed from all skoda configurators. Does someone by any chance know if they can’t certify it due to the new eco norms or has ordered the same engine and is in the same predicament?
  5. Hello, I am about to go all in on a new Superb L&K. I have a few questions about some of the options. The first is between the Amundsen and Columbus units. Despite the slightly bigger display, 3d visuals and the faster processor, does the Columbus offer anything else that would justify almost 1000 euro price difference. The second is whether the acoustic windows actually do make a change when driving on the motorway at higher speeds. The third and final is about the TSI 190hp engine. I see most either go for the diesel or the 272. Where I live, the quality of diesel fuel is awful and I would very much like to avoid it. I do not mind the 2 liter per km more in consumption, however I am getting doubts whether there are other factors why people go for the diesel or the higher hp version besides that. Since I drive mostly urban and short distances, the diesel will have not time to warm up and the 272 seems just pointless, especially being 4000 euro more than the 190 petrol. Seeing as the 272 is limited to 250km/h, but the speed limit here is 140, i simply have not use case for it as the 190 will also do 160-170 effortlessly if needed. Any information would be welcomed. Best Regards, Hopefully a new member
