  2. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THERMOSTAT-for-SKODA-OCTAVIA-Combi-2-0-TDI-2012-on-/124116696116?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  3. Don't think it's genuine. Got it from ebay £30
  4. Updateon m situation. I've change D the thermostat. When I start te car And let it run without driving and heating off, temperature goes to 90 and doesn't move. When I start driving heating off, temperature goes down to 70 and stays there. If I turn te heating on at max, temperature goes down nearly to the bottom 50, 55. Heating at mac is still blowing OK, but not to the max. What are the chances te new thermostat is faulty?!?! Can te waterpump break down in under 20k miles? If its a temperature sensor, will it show on diagnostic?
  5. Hi, thanks for your input. I've seen the video and its a big helper. I have a £30 quote labour only so near your price with the thermostat itself. Will e doing it tommorow by myself. Fingers crossed it all goes ok
  6. Happy that you fix your problem. Was it showing any faults on the computer or check light going on because of the faulty sensor?
  7. No issues wit te heating whatsoever. Altho with heating turned off, temperature goes to 90 89/90abd stays there. The moment I turn the heating on, temperature falls below 85, near 80. When I think about it, it does take a bit longer to warm up.
  8. Water pump was changed about 16k miles ago with cambelt and all other stuff
  9. Hello all. Lately I've notice that te temperature of my Octavia is wondering between the 80 and 90 degree mark. On top of my head Is a thermostat replacement, but will be happy to hear others opinions. Car is driven every morning and evening 30mile motorway drive. I la's thinking it might be from te low outside temperature, but it was almost 10 degrees today. I will be thankful if anyone can share a video guide of thermostat change. Car is MK4,. 2.0 tdi, manual Thanknyou all and stay safe.
  10. HI @Pilotguy I had the opportunity to chose from over 20+cars and luckily I found a quite good one. Only 74k miles and in a good condition for an ex service car
  11. Hi and thanks for your input. The GPS unit is on the dashboard in the passenger side corner. I did order a new one as it was not that expensive. Hopefully that will sort the problem.
  12. Hi to everyone. Apologies if the subject has been put on before, could not find my answer. So I've upgraded my multymedia from bolero to amundsen. All done and decoded but he GPS location is finding me about 100miles away from my location(the place I bought the unit from). From my resurch on the Web I found that I need to check if I get a GPS signal, but can't find how to do so. There is a small GPS box(looks like an added one) on the dashboard. Is there a way to check if the problem comes from it before I buy a new one? Thanks in advance for all help.
  13. Hello to everyone. I can say that I'm heppy to find a place where people help each other with basic and not so much stuff for repairing thir cars. I'm a 36 years old construction worker(dryliner/fixer) currently living in Newport, South Wales. Have a lovely wife and two beutyfull girls that mean te worwd to me. Originally I am from Bulgaria. I live in the United Kingdom from 6 years now. At the moment I drive a 14 plate skoda octavia estate 2.0 tdi engine that used to be an ambulance. This is my second skoda. First one was 06plate Fabia estate again. Must say I have something for estate cars. On my fabia i was at a point that was doing all servicing, pads even an egr valve and timing belt (with help) due to bad luck with mechanics. As mynew one is a bit newer, I'm still not sure do I want to try and do things on my own. Once again happy to be here. Thanks Yav
