  1. I don't think this is a solution. I don't need more cables!
  2. Android Auto and Mirrorlink work only through cable connection. Bletooth works only for phone calls and audio streaming. If android auto would have worked wirelessly, it would be great, but it's not possible. Even on the new octavia 4, the connection can be made wirelessly only with apple, android phones still need a cable connection.
  3. Before making the retrofit I have used a lighter fast charger, with a vent phone holder, because I was using waze on my phone. Just after the retrofit I was foreced to use that usb port for android auto conection. The problem is that android auto is using the phone processor and is draining the phone battery, so it needs a faster charge to keep up the consumtion, at least to keep the phone battery at the same procentage it was when you have conected it to the car.
  4. What you are saying is that I have a problem with the charging cable? I have explained that I have tried 3 cables, the phone original cable and two other cables, all the cables charge fast on the socket charger, and all 3 cables charge with over 1000mA on the usb from my other car, a brand new VW Polo with Compositio n Media. Just on my Skoda it charges with under 300mA, so I think I will go with Sasha's sugestion to change the usb part with one that works with iphones as well, because when I will want to sell the car, I think it will be a plus, and hope It will also solve my charging problem.
  5. Ok, but the newer version that is designed for carplay should solve the problem, right? The cable is prepared with 2 aditional wires, as you can see in the photo I have posted before!
  6. Thanks a lot! Hope it works, and I don't spend money useless on the new usb port, without a result.
  7. The cable is not the problem. I have tried 3 cables and 2 phones, the problem is the same.
  8. I have tried 3 cables, the result is the same! My Skoda is from 2013, I think that te usb port is the first model, because it's very small compared to the one that suports apple carplay. I think that upgrading to a newer model of usb port will solve the problem, but I want to be sure, before buying a new port. Thanks.
  9. It's a Samsung A50 with android. With the same cable, on socket charger charges fast, on the 2020 VW Polo i have charges with over 1000mA, and on my Octavia 3 from 2013, witch has received a retrofit with mib2 amundsen, but kept the old usb plug, receives only 240-280 mA.
  10. I have used the same cable in all the checks, and it was the original phone cable, that works on fast charging when pin the socket charger. So it's not from the cable! My question is if it could be fron the usb socket, witch is the first generation, and if changing it with a new one, that supports apple carplay as well may solve the problem, to charge faster. I am attaching a photo with my actual usb port, that only suports android auto.
  11. I have a fast charger thst works on a cigarette lifhet socket as well, but I usualy use Waze or google maps, and spotify as well, so the phone needs to be conected to the car's usb socket. Also, my friends:s brand new Octavia 4 has only 4 usb type C sockets and no cigarette lighter, and it's frustrating to go on a 5 hours road with the phone fully charged and get to the destination with only 30-40% of battery, keeping the phone conected all the time. Maybe is there some retrofit to install USB 3.0 or something like that? Thank you.
  12. I have a 2013 Octavia 3, and I have retrofited from mib1 to mib2, but I have keeped the old usb socket. The problem is that it charges my phone just with 280mA max, and when using android auto, it uncharges my phone instead of charging it. Also, I have a friend that just bought a brand new octavia 4, and he won't get more that 300 mA on any of those 4 usb ports available. I also have a new VW Polo, which gives a charging over 1000mA, so I am wondering if it's not a Skoda problem, and how can it be solved?
