  1. Hi there, I'm really hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this for me. A few months ago the glow plug light started coming on and flashing and random times when driving. Once it came on it would stay flashing until I turned off the engine, then when I turned it back on it was gone and wouldn't come back on for maybe days or even weeks. As the months have gone by it seems to be coming on more frequently. All the times (except 1 I'll get to that) there is no change in the way the car drives, all the lights are working, and everything obvious is fine. I took it to Kwik fit (I know I was desperate) and they connected the computer to it and told me it was the dpf, but considering I had just come back from a hour and a half drive down the motorway I doubted that very much. I kept driving it and it kept coming on and then one day it went into limp mode, so I took it to my usual garage and he said the computer was saying it's the air flow meter, but once he cleared the codes it drove fine he could find nothing wrong with it, there were no leaks and so he told me to carry on driving it and see if it happened again. It hasn't gone into limp mode again since but the light comes on sometimes and I've now noticed it seems to be when I'm braking at high speed, like coming off the motorway onto the slip road or when a BMW driver cuts you up (the usual 😂) So does anyone have any idea what it might be? My mechanic doesn't want to chance the air flow meter because it's expensive and he's not convinced that's what's causing it which I appreciate but I don't really like driving around with a fault light on my dash. Any help would be really appreciated 👍 Many Thanks Sarah
