  1. Been browsing the forum for some time now and finally thought i'd raise my hand and say hi Firstly apologies for the ramble (promise future posts wont be this lengthy), thought id give some background on my skoda and its history. Many (many) years ago I used to have a good old giggle and finger point at skodas, then would you believe it my dad bought one! He being who he was was instantly drawn in by the individuality, quirkiness, and practicality of the felicia fun when it was first released. My brother and myself laughed and Joked at the time (mainly at the colour) and then it grew on us, it was just so practical for a small car! House moves, dog carriage, bikes, long trips etc etc, it really did everything. Anyway, long story short, my dad absolutely loved the car, nick-named "the yellow peril", and after a good few years spruced it up and replaced the old 1.6 with a 1.8 20V turbo, slightly tuned (220hp) and other subtle modifications (wanted to keep it looking standard but hard hide big brakes behind small wheels). It then definitely lived up to it's fun name Again sorry to go on; the dreaded rust started setting in and it was taken off the road back around 2010 to give it some attention, as with most projects this started to take a while and he then bought another one! (Claiming for parts but it was so good he cleaned it up and drove it as his daily). Unfortunately he was taken ill in 2016 and wasn't able to drive, both the funs were now off the road. I re-ignited the 1.8T restoration while he was in hospital hoping that when he came out it would be back to its former glory and he would be able drive the car he loved so much once again. This i'm sad to say was never the case and he passed in 2017. I continued to slowly work on the car when i could (although seemed to spend more time just sitting in it) and when complete to a point it was then covered over and tucked away safe until deciding what to do. (coincidentally the other fun was sold a couple of years ago and still sometimes see it driving around Sheffield, really pleased it is still being used). I have now decide to once again bring the yellow peril back out and get it used as was intended. Sure i shall be much more frequent on here, picking brains and sharing progress. Many small jobs to do and hopefully have her purring around the Sheffield roads very soon. (Shall also try and dig out some old pics etc, posted in the correct forum section of course ) Cheers Dave
