  1. Thanks HeavyMetalRich and SurreyJohn. I took it today for a "Free" Aircon test at KwikFit. I had managed to coax an obd scan into telling me that a "Low Extreme" had been seen by the pressure sensor and so suspected a leak. The check consisted of the kid connecting some refrigeration gauges to the system with the engine off. The gauges both read zero so conclusion is no gas. The leak detector that they normally use (Gas with fluorescent dye) has been taken out of service so they wanted me to pay £50 arrangement fee to call a guy out (3rd Party) and have him pressurise the system with Nitrogen and then check for leaks with a Nitrogen detector. Then I was to pay this guy for any repair work needed and once he had finished I was then to pay an additional £50 for KwikFit to "Fill" my system. This erks me because I was talking to some refrig engineers years ago and they told me that car systems only take a sniff of gas and despite what the industry tells you that gas is comparatively cheap. So upshot is that I left, never to return again and am putting in some screen/keyboard time hunting info. Wish me luck

  3. Hi all I have just got me a nice Roomster 1.2 CR Diesel and am learning it's foibles, one of which is really stumping me. I cant seem to turn the Aircon on at MY will. Sometimes I press the AC button and it lights up and all is good, I feel cold air coming from the vents but it rarely just works like that. What is tending to happen is that I press the button and nothing happens, the button doesnt even light up, I press it again and again and sometimes it starts to work but then turns itself back off again just as suddenly, or I give up pressing the button and decide to "Go without" but then the button will light up on it's own and the cold air emerges. There is just no rhyme or reason to what happens, cold outside air temp, warm outside air temp, fan speed, Temp setting all seem to have no bearing on whether it works or not. I have scanned with my EOBD device and it reports no faults in the HVAC system whether it is running at the time or ignoring my button pushes. Am I missing a trick here? Thanks in advance.
