  1. I'm going slightly potty trying to find these tools (pictured) to change my suspension. Any links to these would be greatly appreciated. I finally found the DD6 tool, but struggling to find the socket. I've got a 22mm audi spark plug socket on the way for the fronts but can't do the rears yet. Another thing that's bugging me, is it ALL suspension bolts that dont like impact wrenches, or just the top nuts? I have a breaker bar and torque wrench but have treated myself to a new cordless impact wrench. So I planned to use that to help me gets the old parts off and refit with manual wrneches. Thanks in advance. Hoping to post some gratuitous before and after shots in the not too distanct future
  2. Hi Thought it was time to say hello as I've had the skoda a while, hoping to get my hands dirty with her soon. Been lurking and readin a few threads. Thankfully no issues so far other than finding a chunk of cracked rear spring on the driveway a while back. Grew up driving japanese bangers. Micras and corollas. Then got into MGs for a few years, starting to miss my old ZS recently. 2nd kid came along and it was time to get something sensible. Decided on a vag estate, went full frugal and got a 1.6 tdi which has the same torque as the old v6 had. ish. I sometimes wish I'd gone for a VRS but at the time i was on a tight budget. Stuff done: not many miles at all since home working. Got the diesel in case circumstances change and I had to commute. I've used the boot space a fair bit already. Tdi tuning box - the slightly nicer one that does the turbo timing too. Great mod as the car went from undrivable to tolerable. Just ordered some 17" skoda wheels. Android auto head unit at some point. Vredestein tyres as I really rated these before. To do soon: Bilstein B4s and Eibach springs to drop maybe 30mm. The ride is pretty horrible at 110K or so now. I've ordered new covers and bump stops. *any other parts to change while the suspension is off?* Planning to DIY it. I want a more level/planted drive and the wife gets car sick. From reviews the B4 seems ideal for that. Sort out a couple of rust spots showing up. Overdue straigtening the bonnet after previous owner seems to have had a very slight front knock. To do later: Bigger turbo when this one fails? Refurb both sets of wheels. Nothing crazy, just alittle more fun/plesant to drive while keeping it reliable and sensible. Its a workhorse but I'd like to get it to a state where I like it enough to keep it in a state worthy of forum photos.
