  1. Finally got round to doing this today. Nice and easy job with the walkthrough guide, so thanks for that! Mine had obviously been like it for a while as everything was covered in thick crud.
  2. Will check next time I use car (currently in my garage so I can replace the brakes all round) Nope, not sorted yet!
  3. That's not what I was responding to. He asked if I need to put the clutch down to start the car to begin with. i.e when first getting in the car. When already driving car, stop at lights etc the stop start will turn car off but not restart when clutch etc is re-engaged... that is the problem.
  4. No, won't start without putting clutch down... so guess that's working as normal.
  5. Recently bought a Rapid 1.2TSI, got a few small minor problems I've noticed... one of which is the stop start not working. Basically once car is warm etc, if I stop at some lights it turns car off but then doesn't restart the car afterwards. Already in a habit of switching it straight off after starting car, just wondering what the problem is... if anyone knows??
  6. Great write up, think I need to do this on mine, which I recently bought. Stinks of oil with cabin fans on! and outside car when warm. I assumed it was rocker gasket, so went and bought one of those and the sealer....
  7. Hi all, Thought I'd finally join this forum after many years of various other VAG related forums. I've recently bought a Skoda Rapid 1.2TSI..... rapid is what it definitely isn't! Love the green colour though! I've had a Skoda Octavia Mk2 in the past, amongst probably 20 odd other VAG cars. Currently also have a Clio 182 and a Fazer 600 for anyone interested... Based near Gloucester So yeah, hi!
