Ah thank you for that, i did read something about the wiring changing! That'll help me do some more fault finding with the multimeter. I'll take a look this weekend at the wire you suggested! I'm hoping it's a simple fix, seems like someone went well out there way to cover up a simple fault. You're not wrong, very disappointing and dangerous given it was never mentioned at purchase! It's a pig to get the silicone out too while trying not to damage the LED and the flexible faceplate.

Hi all, I've recently purchased a nice Lemon Yellow Fabia, however it appears in some ways to have been a bit of a lemon. I'm looking to restore it back to it's formal glory. Now, i've sussed the dash ABS and ASR lights have been blanked out (great start..). I've now traced back the wiring, I thought fuse number 4 on top of the battery was a direct feed to the ABS pump... in which case someone has removed the wiring and the fuse. Could someone confirm which fuse i should be looking for, and if this is a direct feed to the ABS pump in which case i can reinstate the cable and fuse and then work out a solution from there if anything is broken/faulty. The car is a 2004 ("54") Fabia VRs. Thanks! Should also note that the car has had the 312 brake upgrade on the front, which i'm not sure has anything to do with the previous owner blanking the lights out/removing the wiring?

Hi folks, Joined the forum to ask some questions as I am working my way through bringing a Lemon Yellow Fabia VRs back to glory. It looked fairly nice on purchase, but have since spotted a few changes to bring it back to being more original, and also some bodgery! The VRs is my daily driver having just sold up an A4 3.0tdi to go towards a house purchase. Also run a wee Lupo SDi and my pride and joy is my Z4 Coupe which I'll chuck a photo of below. I come from classic cars, having restored a couple of Mk1 Mini's. The car is on some rusted coilovers which are wound as low as they can go (replacement 35mm lowering springs on order), a RAM air filter, remapped and a piper straight through system with decat. It's also got the 312 upgrade done, but as you'll see on my technical post the ABS has been removed.
