It started at last after I fully depressed and released the accelerator pedal. I didn't expect that to work, assuming that the computer would ignore it. However, this was after 30+ attempts over a 2 hour period. Was it just coincidence? P.

Hello. I'm new here and in a spot of bother. My Fabia 1.4 TDI wont start. It turns over for a second on the starter then stops. It's one of the stop/start engines so keeping the key all the way won't keep the starter going. It did this once before but started OK after a few tries.
