Skoda superb towbar
I was lucky / lazy, I had a 12v cigarette socket in the boot. That I could splice off and use to run the trailer lights. 10amps should be plenty.. All done but taken me probably 5 hours.. I certainly didn't find it a quick job. My slight OCD making sure that all the joints are soldered and heatshrunk didn't help.. Spent about a hour rewrapping everything with loom tape.

Skoda superb towbar
I doubt mine will look as neat as that.. Did you run the power from the back of the satnav screen? Did you route the cable inside and manage to hid it under trim?

Skoda superb towbar
Massive thanks for the tips, I don't think I ever would have guessed that the tow bar attachment point is hidden under the crash bar. I left the exhaust on, just unhooked the two rear exhaust hangers. Gave me enough space to remove the exhaust heat shield. The tow bar is all fitted, just the electrics left. Has anyone used anything like this? TEB7AS 7 Way Universal Bypass This 7 way bypass relay may be used on negative earth vehicles of all types, from those that just require a simple bypass function for circuit protection or to avoid confusing the bulb failure warning system, to those with part or full multiplexed systems and including modulated outputs(appearing as low voltages) to the various rear lamp clusters. Hopefully I can pick up most cables near the rear light clusters.. if I can ever work out how to remove the internal panel.. If I'm just running rear lights on a lighting board, guessing I don't need them all.

Skoda superb towbar
Any tips on how to remove electrics for the parking sensor when taking off the rear bumper? It seems to feed along underneath the chrome strip in the boot, then disappear behind the paneling in the side of the boot.

Just looking at your picture, you removed the crash bar and replace it with the towbar.. i wish I hadn't put it all back together now.

Skoda superb towbar
Yes, but there terrible. Lots of guess work. About 10 pages covering 4 cars. No assembled views or diagrams. Just tell you where screws to remove bumper are hidden and how to assemble the bumper arms

Skoda superb towbar
Has anyone fitted a towbar to a estate? New tow bar just arrived and assembled and has two long bars either sides. But the exhaust seems to be in the way... Is there a option that bolts to the crash bar?

New ECU???
Does anyone know where the airbag control module is? (Mk2 superb) I had a look on ross and its looks like its getting the same error from the air bag control module every time I drive the car. Probably a better start than changing the ECU to get the same error I think ill send it to crash data and try and get it cleared. Other option is to buy one from ebay, but I don't know if the second hand one from ebay has also been crashed. https://www.crashdata.co.uk/category-s/2233.htm

New ECU???
I found a independent garage with "Genuine V.A.G diagnostic equipment comprising of Odis and Erwin factory software" I've never had the best experience of main dealerships I'm guessing they would change the ECU, the loom and everything electrical .. followed by charging me 1000 hours labour at £100 an hour to find out at the end it was a missing earth connection. I thought Ross was expensive till I saw the price of ODIS

New ECU???
I've found someone who can reset the headlight angle with the VCDS software. Only charging me £10.. I'm assuming he can't clear the airbag light. I googled Odis diagnostics and found two companies in the area, I've also heard mention of Shark, Am I wasting my time? Anyone used https://total-vag.co.uk/ or http://www.autocure.uk/ I'm paying for the repair, body shop quoted for the bodywork.. were careful not to specify only the bodywork. (not the skill they had) Seems crazy to have too replace the ECU, guessing there aren't any tricks like leave it unplugged for 40mins

New ECU???
Hi All Had a minor front end bump, local body shop replaced the bumper + front grill and resprayed the bonet.. Car runs perfectly. The problem is that the airbag warning light has come on, I took it to my local VAG specialist and they scanned it with there ROSS tech emulator and read the following warning (printout attached) 00003-Control Module 014-Defective-MIL on I was expecting a replacement sensor or hopefully just a reset. They said that I need to replace the ECU I asked for a price and they went quiet, Looking online I read something about a checksum that is carried out. Is there anyone that can fix this without buying a new ECU? Has anyone tried some of these ecu fixing websites, where you post your ecu? https://www.ecutesting.com/categories/ecu-testing/?gclid=CjwKCAjwgb6IBhAREiwAgMYKRsTQYMERWIeapB_xj-a3LSwqizW6oglBdXObmX9ksAnTGzwDLn5f2BoCIs4QAvD_BwE Ideally I'm looking for someone within a hour of oxford that I can drive to and fix it.. Headlights also need resetting as have started blinding people. Car is a Skoda Superb Elegant 63 Reg

Xenon level sensors problem
Guessing If I undo the linkage I should be able to manually move the arm up and down and see the headlight move up and down? Assuming nothing happens when I move the arm up and down. Next step will be to remove the sensor, can I check it with a multimeter or oscilloscope?

Xenon level sensors problem
It''s a superb elegance. 63 Reg, I've got the original headlights should all else fail, I'm just guessing it's not a 5 minute job to swap them back.. It's got the headlight washers that are fitted and working. Not sure what size washer bottle. Is this the head light level sensor on the rear wishbone? Strangely I expected it to be new and shiny.. It doesn't look like it's recently been installed. This is what's on the Dash Guessing I can't just turn this? Here's the back of the headlights

Xenon level sensors problem
Just wondering if my rear sensor is missing or faulty. (Lights upgraded before I bought the car) Headlights normally Bob up and down on start up, loading the car up with camping stuff, I got flashed / blinded people driving back. Low beams were very high, is it a sensor that you can test with multimeter? What do I need to check before finding someone with a expensive computer... anyone recommend anyone near Thame
