  1. Forgot to add to this thread sooner. My issue was the front left wheel bearing. Took the plunge at a local mechanic, booked through whocanfixmycar for just under £200, was the incorrect price though the supplier price matched the quote on this occasion. No more bearing noise, very happy :)
  2. Hi Arrkon, they only needed the two parts (stalk I sourced and activation software they sourced) to fit. This said they "may" of used other diagnostic/coding software in addition to the the above to complete the swap, though I'm not able to confirm. Would recommend a message or call to them.
  3. Any update to this RobMac1?
  4. Thank you ords, parts were spot on! Just revisiting this thread to say that after many months of ownership and contacting third parties managed to get cruise control retrofitted to the car. After talking with DMA Performance based in Basildon they weren't able to source the part new in the UK from their main suppliers or from Skoda due to stock shortage. They confirmed of what parts were required. I managed to locate the only one for sale new at the time from German Spare Parts. Took around 10 days to come from Germany. DMA managed to fit the stalk and activate it with some Skoda activation software. Should anyone else need this part information and have a similar car (2014 Skoda VRS TSI 2.0 DSG) see the below which worked for me: GESCHWINDI (Skoda) Part Number: 5E0054690A - This is the steering wheel stalk Cruise Control Activation Software: 5E0054800A - The Activation software/disc. Very happy now
  5. Got a very similar issue, front left wheel droning from about 45-55mph then again at 70mph. Tyres changed, all wheel bearings, drive shafts, suspension all checked by two mechanics who say all looks to be in good condition... Have lived with it for around 2k miles now and to be fair dont hear the sound until i remember its there. Will be very interested to find out the results of this one Robmac1
  6. Thank you both for the prompt responses. Am currently awaiting a response from the closest dealer to see if they or another close by branch are able to quote for the works. In the meantime will see if @SashaGrace or any others forum members have had any experience with this and can point me in the right direction.
  7. Hi all, Newbie to the forum, have recently purchased a MK3 Octavia VRS TSI dsg and it is a very capable machine. The only thing currently letting mine down is the lack of cruise control. I'm looking to get cruise control fitted to the car though all my local recommended places in Essex are too busy currently to even quote for the works. One place outside of essex quoted nearly £700 for the stalk and coding due to it taking 4-5 hours labour! Is there anyone able to advise of any companies that offer this and rough prices? Any companies in Essex or that would come to me to fit? Thanks all in advance 😊
  8. Hi All, Coming from an Abarth Grande Punto recently purchased a Skoda Octavia TSI VRS MK3 with dsg. Car had 92k miles on it and I have already reached 93k in the space of a week 9 days. Car has been faultless and a completely different world from the Abarth in comfort, refinement, practicality (HUGE BOOT) and sheer pace. Already done a major service, dsg service, four new p-zero tyres and rear discs/pads (they were looking a bit sorry for themselves!). Looking forward to putting many more miles on the car and can see that I'll be keeping for the foreseeable. Anyway pictures below and off to the forums!
