  1. Independent garage diagnosed as rattle and advised to take to Skoda dealership for warranty claim. Dealership said it’s normal from having a phone conversation with Skoda technical. I highly doubt any inspection of bushings was undertaken. Car has 77 000 Kms on it. Waiting to hear back from Skoda Australia as I complained and made a bit of noise. Unsure of what, if any issues can come from it. Dealership basically said until you get engine codes nothing will be done.
  2. Thanks for the photos. The car is under warranty which is part of the problem... Skoda Australia has advised its normal. Dealer wasn’t interested in pushing the issue. Therefore, it’s up to me to deal with I know the MK2 had it as a known problem but not so common on the MK3. That is the concerning part, is it a sign of something worse?
  3. That’s the culprit! IMG_1472.MOV
  4. Yep agreed! Try telling that to a Škoda dealer person who is denying it to your face... not easy. Now to try and fix the rattle...
  5. Hi, That was my understanding. I also think they are being lazy and testing to see if I’ll push the issue. Engine code is CHHB. Thanks!
  6. Hi all, Looking for some help if possible! I have a Mk3 Octavia pre FL (2017) that has quite a metallic rattle at about 1800rpm and at light load. Took it to my independent VAG garage who said the wastegate actuator rod was loose and showed me when it was up on the lift. Took it to Skoda dealership who also confirmed wastegate rattle on a test drive. They called Skoda Australia and the technical department said it was 'normal' and if it didn't throw any codes then the car is deemed serviceable. Can the rattle get progressively worse and lead to codes or failures? I've read it is quite common on VWs and Audis and that a clip is sometimes used but the Skoda dealership said they aren't the same engines and not applicable. They also charged me $125 AUD for them to inspect and call Skoda. Are there technical bulletins relating to this for Skoda vehicles or am I wasting my time and breath? Any help or info is greatly appreciated!
