  1. Right I’ve just got my codes through for the fault on my DSG, and I’m also waiting to hear back from Skoda UK customer services. I’ll keep you posted.
  2. The technician I spoke to said it was not a common fault however I believe they are told not to admit liability or say it is a common problem as it give me ammunition for claiming that it is a faulty part. I know Aus / NZ had a recall on VW’s with faulty MCU however they claimed it was down to climate conditions, and would not do the same in Europe. I’m still waiting to hear back from Skoda with a list of the fault codes Shown on the Diagnostic check.
  3. Just found out it is a faulty Mechatronic unit. Is this a common fault on the DSG Transmission? Skoda have quoted me £1,400 to carry out the repairs. I’ve spoke to Skoda UK Customer service and they suggested I contact where I bought the Car from as there is no good will gesture from Skoda Norwich, understandably. mom waiting for a call back from the Sales Manager where we bought it. 🤞🏻

  5. FYI, Sorry for the late reply been tied up with other things. We have had the car for just over 3 years and it has done 49,900 miles.

  7. Hi Guys, Cant find my OBD scanner so not sure of any codes at all. Driving home the other day warning came up on the dash saying no reverse gear can be selected? The car still drove ok until I started to slow down for my turning. I was in 3/4 when the warning notification came on and as i started braking car changed down 4,3,2,and then quickly dropped into 1 higher than normal. It would not come out of First at all. It was only 200 yards to my home so I slowly drove there in First. I came out later and started up and the engine management light had gone off and she was driving as normal for the next couple of days. Then it did the same thing again. I immediately pulled over and turned the ignition off opened and closed the door, waited a couple of seconds and started her again. Drove home with no problem. I would think it is obviously a electronic glitch however has anyone else had this problem, and was it an easy fix? Thanks Knodty

  9. I see your point, however surely if the battery was on its way out it wouldn’t produce 12.8 volts? Just been too busy to look into it tbh. Thanks for your help Guys I’ll let you know how i get on. 👍🏻
  10. Haven’t scanned for codes lately as it never showed up before when I had the fault.
  11. Morning guys, I’ve got a 2008 Octavia Scout 2.0l diesel and had a hot starting problem for a while now when car is cold no difficulty in starting. When the engine is at running temp and I stop to get petrol or park or Stall the engine. The engine will crank over really slowly as if the battery has low voltage, and struggle to start and sometimes doesn’t. Charging circuit is charging at over 14 volts and battery puts out 12.8 volts. The obvious thing to me would be a problematic starter solenoid or a loose connection to it. However I wondered if there are other common faults which would cause this to happen? Peter
  12. Hi Guys, As the title says my Warning lights came on for power steering, and traction control, after i disconnected the battery. I done this as a precaution as I have side airbags in the seat, and needed to change the seatbelt buckle, as the seatbelt warning light kept coming on. Removed everything ok and refitted it the same. However when I reconnected the battery these lights came on. Is it as simple as plugging in to the obd plug and clearing the fault or have I done it the wrong way and broke something? cheers Peter
