  1. Yeah I was suspecting the immobiliser/ECU, naturally the door locks might be an issue with a new key though. I can only think of either; 1.getting a new key/transponder with software like VCDS to reprogram them to the car. Can be done for around £80-100, at first glance. Or 2. A brand new ignition barrel and key. But could incur the same issue with programming. Any thoughts?
  2. I did try this, in a way, but will give it another shot tomorrow just to double check. I was also wondering about getting a new key and transponder, then reprogramming with say; VCDS (VAG COM). Any thoughts on this being possible with the new barrel? Thanks
  3. Having fitted a 'new' ignition barrel (via salvage yard), i've tried starting the car; It fires up, but dies straight afterwards. The security light also comes on the dash (key and car symbol). I've tried moving the transponder to the new key, but still have the same issue. I can only think its an immobiliser/anti theft issue, but can't think how to get round it. I do have another ignition barrel I could try, but wondering if this would be any different. Even to get it to a garage, last resort. any ideas? Thanks
