  1. Yes that does. Do you mind me asking what finance deals you were offered? Was 0% on the table so to speak?
  2. I'd seen that red one earlier but strangely the salesman at Stockport Lookers said they only had two white pre reg diesels in stock.... I think I prefer the red. To confuse matters further, the Rochdale sales dude reckoned their preregistration petrol techs were interest free.....but he didn't get anything else right unfortunately. Stockport salesman said even though preregistration I would get free servicing, but that prob requires me taking their 7.9% PCP Now if I could get a preregistration diesel tech with interest free and free servicing we'd be on to a winner....cake and eat it? Well maybe a brand new one at £13k with interest free would work out cheaper than £12k preregistration with interest? I need to do the sums..
  3. I know that, I was just trying to help justify it to myself! I've not seen many TDi WRC or S2000 cars. A nice salesman from another local dealership just called and he couldn't have been different - he knew about the deal and said he would check whether a TDi was still available and get back to me.
  4. Wow - this is so confusing - the Skoda website says nothing about the Monte Carlo Tech Estate as far as I can see! I have managed to find some prereg hatch Techs on Autotrader for £12k though - a red one locally and if I want a white one I'd have to go to Scotland! Can't decide which is the best colour! lol Suppose white is more "rally"? I can cope with a pre-reg, but suspect I won't get the free servicing or finance deal offered on a brand new one.
  5. I forgot to say that the dealer did say I could have a Monte Carlo Tech at the original list price though....
  6. I think the pre reg ones were £12k but with 0% Apr. Am I being daft not considering the petrol version? I start my new job on Monday and will probably be doing lots of motorway miles so assume the diesel will be much better. I like a squirty car when I'm around town. I've already had a look on the broadspeed website and the Monte Carlo Tech is not listed.
  7. So how much is the 5 dr TDI and how much is the estate? The dealer was useless and didn't seem interested. He just wanted to flog me a pre-reg petrol Tech! I ma waiting for another localish dealer to call me back.
  8. Hi, I'm seriously considering a Monte Carlo Tech TDi, after seeing the website offer: http://www.skoda.co.uk/finance/finance-offers/fabia-monte-carlo-offer but after speaking to a Skoda dealer he didn't have a clue about the offer, and when he got back to me he said there is no offer price for the 1.6 diesel version. Any Skoda dealers on here, or anyone bought one recently - I've not driven one yet, but I believe they can be remapped to make them more responsive, and being a Rally fan there is a connection there! Seems a lot of kit for the money - all the bits I'll need in my new job. Otherwise it's back to looking for secondhand vRS Octavias or Fabias for around £6k. Cheers.
  9. That's what I thought, wisebuyers always seem more accurate, but if you look at the prices of cars on autotrader and ebay they are all over the place - it's so hard to make a judgement. The wisebuyer prices seem a bit low to me compared to real world.
  10. I used to have a SEAT and my dad has one now - the SEAT dealership in Bury has been pretty good. Today I phoned around some Skoda dealers in Manchester for cambelt fitting prices and wasn't too impressed - the receptionist at Horners in Manchester put me straight through to the service department, but it rang out for over 5 mins and no-one answer so I put the phone down. Horners in Rochdale told me the guy I needed to speak to wasn't in but they would phone me back - they didn't. The Dealer in Eccles answered the phone straight away, but instead of me talking to the guy in service, I had the conversation through the receptionist, but atleast I got a price. After going through a quick menu at Awesome GTI, the phone was answered after a couple of mins by a knowledgable guy who answered all my questions. The price was
  11. How can these 2 site's prices be so different? They are both set for 30,000 miles. Skoda Octavia vRS 1.8T vRS Estate 5d Valuation - Parker's WiseBuyer's Guides - Skoda Octavia (1998-04) mileage adjusted used car prices
  12. Thanks for you quick replys - he texted me this morning to say it hadn't been sold. The guy admitted he hadn't had the cambelt done at the last service, so I'm guessing from other postings on here that I'm looking at
  13. Hi, This is my first post on this forum, hope you can help me! I've seen a 2 owner, 2003 53 plate Octavia vRS Estate in black with 65k miles on the clock for
