  1. The above link is to the Piston Advert listing This is the link to the Piston Heads thread https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-features-sheds/skoda-superb-v6-shed-of-the-week/44185
  2. Might be worth looking at this thread as it develops over the next day or so. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11665188 Enjoy Mark
  3. Not had the Roomster done yet, but previous experience on 2 previous Remaps would indicate to me that near on identical or a little better. Basically depends how you drive it after the remap. If you don't change your style of driving and only tap into the extra torque from time to time you will see an advantage MPG wise, but not a lot day to day. With virtually all modern cars having digital dash computers I used to see 0.8 mpg at best improvement if driven in a similar to previous. If economy is your target then a fair few providers offer 2 remaps, the normal performance map and a Economy remap with plenty of torque but less BHP than the performance remap but still up on standard. Little difference in the cost of the 2 different remaps though
  4. Just found this on Youtube, possibly some of the best in car driving footage I have watched and a fitting way to perhaps remember her Sit down with a cup of Tea and enjoy?
  5. Having posted the link to the Piston Heads Shed of the Week last week, I caught up with PH thread again and noticed a couple of links to Australian articles on the Roomster TDI PD, one mainly tuning. the other general ownership. https://www.autospeed.com/cms/a_112589/article https://www.autospeed.com/cms/a_112171/article Not seen these articles before, thought they might be of interest to all. We are talking Australian articles here and date back to 2011/12. Also it looks as if the "Autospeed" website has not been updated since, but good articles nevertheless. Most interesting thing I learned was that PD cam belt timing is quite important to how engine will perform. As I am due a cam belt in the next couple of months and I am likely to sort a modest remap soon after this was of interest. Enjoy One Man's Car.webloc The Roomster Nuts.webloc
  6. https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-features-sheds/skoda-roomster-scout-shed-of-the-week/43834 Generally quite a positive response but plenty of typical Piston Head comments too!
  7. Many thanks Wilydog, will have a look later, appreciated
  8. Thanks J R for your post, plenty of Tuning boxes available from a few established suppliers. Normally they contain exactly the same map as they also have available as a remap. Obviously Ebay currently has lots of cheap generic tuning boxes, really cheap in some cases. I still think I would opt for a quality remap from a decent specialist, rather than a off the shelf remap that many smaller places offer
  9. Many thanks Marky, sounds like you have similar tastes to myself. Most useful to know. There site looks impressive but also too far away and less than obvious if they do a mobile service. Much as though I enjoy a journey! with lockdowns coming and going it's a bit difficult. What is useful to know is that a 135HP remap can work quite well in practice, at least one of the remap companies on my shortlist offer a 135HP tune map, superchips I think and mobile as well. Any more recommendations most welcome!
  10. Hi all, I am investigating getting a gentle remap for a 2006 Roomster TDI. I appreciate there is still a lot of love for the PD engine on this forum. I hope there is a lot of experience on here with remaps. All I want is more Torque and a bit more HP. At 60 years old. (me not the car..) I don't want anything too extreme, just a bit more in reserve that will be used infrequently and sensibly. My own investigations have brought up a random shortlist of the following in no particular order. Celtic Tuning REVO Darkside Developments Superchips I have no wish for a custom with rolling road before and after. My own research just brings up a handful of old threads here and elsewhere all arguably out of date know. That's assuming remaps have moved on and got better. As above I am not chasing high numbers, just a well rounded map. Look forward to some words of wisdom. Thanks in advance Mark
  11. Hi All, Purchased a 2006 Roomster TDI 1.9. Been on a few car forums in my time, not sure why I have only now joined this forum. Hope to learn lots and eventually maybe even contribute.
