  1. Can nox sensors be cleaned as mine is sending a very intermittent engine management warning message (on the dashboard). No symptoms other than the warning light from time to time, with no regularity. Sometimes can go weeks without coming on, and then several times a trip on other times. The other sympton is that very occasionally the fan stays on for about 5 mins after I have stopped, but again it is sporadic and no common theme to when this happens. The particulates filter is OK. Fuel consumption very good between 55 to 60 mpg on runs and slightly less on short journeys. No smells of diesel inside the car, and no smoke out the back. The recent test (contrôle technique in France) showed very low readings from the exhaust. My concern is that the engine will go into limp mode when I'm out and about. Husband has a diagnostic thingy which came up as nox sensor, but as it's really intermittant, sometimes it reads this, and sometimes it reads nothing wrong. Sorry to post such a blond question, although I am brunette! 😆
  2. Please bear with me I am not technically good. Do I need SmartLink on my Octavia Est 2016 to use Android Auto. My Android is version 13 apparently. I don't have a Smartlink code. It's not worth £100 to buy as it's only the maps/gps that I need improving. I have latest sd card for maps but just as useless as last version. ( You need to be on top of the address you are aiming for before it accepts it 🤔) So still using tom tom or my phone.
  3. Sorry I got very distracted on things like.... how do I actually get my bluetooth to radio to actually play my music... no idea on what I was doing, but finally today, it works, only 2 months later! Re using data I don't think this is a runner, but I'll give it a go, vodaphone charge me £1 per day now for connecting, but I'll see what I can do with Bouygues Telecom (my french provider)
  4. That's kind of you, although beyond me technically speaking . The radio works perfectly but only has FM. I can bluetooth my phone to receive calls and use the music that I have on it, but as my phone is PAYG I only go onto mobile data when it's absolutely needed. I guess that the radio itself won't have a LW setting hidden in it somewhere and I would have to buy something similar to the kit suggested.
  5. I only use PAYG so not a possibility. I'm happy even with a poor reception. With my old Audi I had LW and I picked up a strong reception in Toulouse! Now in Normandy I can't get it and it should be a cinch but the Skoda doesn't have the LW band.
  6. I've just bought a lovely bright white Octavia Estate. As I live in France I can't listen to UK radio in the car, and to be honest French radio is dire and I tend only to listen to the travel reports on 107.7FM. BUT I like to tune into Radio 4 when at home, and I can't do this with my new car because I think I can only get FM (need LW) I know there are workarounds for many things on the Skodas that are not obvious. Is there a workaround to enable LW?
