  1. Hi I have the Skoda app on my iPhone.. And it certainly seem to have its flaws (as well as Skodas infotainment system..what is it with Skoda and software?) Every time I want to get into the app I am logged out so I must log in again..why?? When I get into the app its never synced recently.. Most often it states the car is unlocked...which it is not... To start the diesel warming system is basically not possible (it has worked once..) The app states its not allowed to access the car very often and if I go out to the car and check in the infotainment system it clearly states that it allows for remote access...IE the app is wrong... And lots of stuff like that...I assume more people have issues with this app? Now its for free the first year but with such a bad function there's no way Im gonna pay to extend it...It work so bad that I simply don't use it... Whats your experiences?
  2. im on a iPhone 8 with IOS 14.3 so the latest one. Maybe its the Spotify app on Apple Carplay then.. Oh havent had that happen to my Waze yet but... I also notice how slow MIB 3 is compared to MIB 2...Did they not test the software before putting it in cars.. Since Im a System Architect its rather strange to me to se a software 2021 that doesnt work better then its predesessor.
  3. Hi Ive had my Kodiaq 2021 since 28th of December. I did the latest system update to the MIB 3 system which don't seem to have done anything really. Anyway I have the Columbus nav + MIB 3 plattform on infotainment. And to be really really nice I think it could use some TLC from some friendly programmer.. I use Apple CarPlay with iPhone 8..And what I see is that if I play music on Spotify it hangs the system as soon as I do anything else in the menus..like change color on ambient lightning....or change the bass in the equaliser..anything.. And then I need to reboot... If I only play music then after a while reboot needed as well... Sometimes the sound is totally dead and nothing can be done about it other then shutting of the car and wait for an hour or so.. I had a Tiguan before with MIB 2 and there was never any issues....so did VW fire all good system developers and kept the ones no one else wanted..or dud they cut the budget for that department or.. I have seen many commenting on the flaws of mib 3 and I can only agree... I don't understand how a company like VW can release a product that has so many flaws...didnt they test it at all? I really love my Skoda Kodiaq so far on all points except this...If this don't get better real soon then this was my first and my last Skoda and probably vw product ever..Since I really want a car where I can rely on that the stereo actually is capable of playing music when I want to hear it and not when it feels like it.. Take Care all
  4. Hi when I started my car a message appeared automatically on the screen that there is a system update available..with a button "update" and disclaimer that the car must be stationary when updating.
  5. Hi I just got a system update on my 2021 Kodiaq with mib 3 and Columbus Does anyone know what the system update did and contained?? It went really fast to download.. It only stated that it was error fixes and minor functions which doesn't say much..Anyone that know more?
  6. wow...insane how sensitive these systems are nowadays..pretty vulnerable to say the least...perhaps the old stereosystems of 90s where better in this sense...even though they of course lacked and had no streaming and fourth...oh well...
  7. Hi Filip Unfortunately it sound exactly like my problem...even if it only happened once so far..But I have not been driving much since last so... And no smar****ch here either... However even if I would have a smar****ch...really?? I mean if the car stereosystem can not handle that a passenger or driver have a smar****ch then it should be back to the drawing board I think..
  8. Hi and thanks for the tip. I have Apple Car Play but I guess one can assume its about the same... My stereo did play sound as usual morning the next day..very strange.... So I guess something in the car was reset during more hours time - but what?? Actually when it was silent..removing the apple car play clicking on the "Skoda" app and dissconnect the phone was one of the things I tried-without results... And if it was due to the phone I guess that should have done the trick but..no.. And the radio and everything was silent so.. The reseller did not have any answer on this at all either... So now Im just hoping for it never to happen again I guess... best regards Micael
  9. Hi all and thanks for feedback and tips... Strangely enough today this morning the stereo system worked again like nothing have happened?? So was something reset during the night... The only thing I can come to think of is if there was a system update of some kind yesterday... But I actually did look for that in the settings yesterday and could not see anything..(since the mib 3 have automatic updates of maps and systems according to the manual and it also states that the columbus should not be used when updating) As answer to the question on navigation and phone...none of that had audio either yesterday...now it works as it should... I guess I need wait and see where this goes...I would not like it to go silent on a long trip for sure.. I have emailed the reseller so I hope he might have a guess..Then again the Columbus MIB 3 seem rather new so perhaps hoping for to much.. Anyway thanks and take care
  10. No sorry that did not help at all...The system rebooted when doing as you say..but the system is still silent...Thanks for the tip..
  11. Hi Yes I have the Canton system... Where would I find the fuse for the amplifier?? Actually I haven't had issues with fuses for some 18 years with other new cars so that never even crossed my mind... But the system display shows up and i can see radio channel settings and such...would that not be the same fuse as the amplifier then? thanks for the tip
  12. Hi This afternoon when I was to go home and started the Kodiaq there was absolutely no sound coming from the radio or apple car play or anything within the infotainment.. Even on full volume nothing... I have tried rebooting the columbus system about 10 times without any improvement at all... Tried to restart the car..nothing.. I have rechecked all settings so nothing there could keep the system silent (then again it worked fine when I parked the car and nothing was changed... So Im a bit without clue... Anyone that have experienced this or have any good tip on what to do?? It is a new Kodiaq 2021.. Best regards Micael
  13. Ok..actually it seems as an account was automatically created for me..so I could get logged in on my laptop using waze on the iPhone..again thanks so much
  14. Ok thanks..as stated I will try Waze out...By the way is one supposed to create an account for it as well or just download and use?
  15. Thanks super..Ive downloaded it now...and will try it... Is there any way I can get speed cams into Apples Maps as well?
  16. Hi so I guess my conclusion is to forget speed cams and navigation using the purchase Columbus mib 3.. So what is the best to use instead?? I have an iPhone 8...so what app would be best to use to get great navigation and also speedcams?? (Im located in sweden) And is there something I need to configure?
  17. Well of course you are free to view it like that and I can even understand that point of view. However..I have been driving 3 years with my VW Tiguan 2019 with mib2...And I gotta say that Im a bit surprised that mib 3 have less function than mib 2 on the Columbus navigation system... And I can assure you that that was not in the description... Besides the lack of function to import personal POI..(which exist and work perfectly in mib 2) the mib 3 Columbus also lack the "View in View" function that would open a separate window when turning of highway or similar and shows the road signs really clear (and yes that also worked perfect in mib 2) In general I can now say after a few days driving that the Columbus mib 3 have been stripped of some functions that gave good info in mib 2...Like when your closing up to a departure your view in view window would show you more info leading up to the departure.. The mib 3 Columbus simply shows an arrow pointing in the direction that you shall turn off to and the name of the new road..Which could be good enough I suppose... But the thing is that - that is the way it looked on the first portable navigator I purchased some 15 years ago... So in my meaning if you develop mib 3...you will get mib 2...a bit strange to me... Having said all that mib 3 have some new things...like that you can set the cruise control to follow the speed on the road signs (so you don't need speed cams right...) however driving today testing that it was rather good for a while..until it didn't work at all since the maps in my Kodiaq (picked up new last week) seem to be to old so the speed on the roadsigns are simply wrong in the navigator...But I like the thought thou so if they get the maps correct that seem like a useful function... Also the big thing in mib 3 is wireless android auto/apple CarPlay...And to me that's actually the only thing I would like to keep from mib 3...so give me that in mib 2 and I would be a happy camper... And in the end it comes down to that when I buy a new car..and know that the high end navigator have been updated to a new platform..I actually expect it to be able to do ALL that the old one was capable of...and then some...(why else update??) I also expect it to be more capable then my 8 year old portable Garmin (which it is not at the moment...) But hey that's just me... Anyway thanks for your feedback and comment.. Have a great new year.. Best regards Micael
  18. What info did you find on that?? And if so..however where they thinking??? So now I need to bring my Garmin into the Skoda....and that even though I paid for getting the onboard navigation.... Im not as happy with my first Skoda as I would have hoped due to this...and I guess its the same all VW with mid 3 then..
  19. Hi that's just it...I can't find such a function in mib3... In my 2019 Tiguan with columbus and mib2 there was a function "manage memory" which I used to import personal POI from the vw portal... But now with mid 3 and Columbus I haven't found such function or possibility...But Im assuming I haven't looked at the right place since mid 3 should not be with less function then mid 2 (at least one would think right..).. However right now Im a bit lost of what more I could try or as to what Im missing out on regarding this..
  20. I have now asked my reseller of Skoda, who sold me the Kodiaq. And he said that they have asked but no one seem to know at this point in time. In fact he thought that perhaps the forum here may be the best place to find a solution on this... So anyone that have tried on Columbus mib 3? I also have asked Skoda on facebook but no answer yet.. Is there any other way of getting answers to complex technical questions like this?? Ant place more that I could ask? Best regards Micael
  21. Hi Alan Yes I got my speed cam list there as well. However how do I import them to my Kodiaq?? I have the latest Columbus navigation which means MIB3.. And I gotta say that for me MIB2 was a lot easier to understand...in MIB3 they have stripped away a lot of functions that I thought was very good..and added a more (I suppose) stripped down interface.. Just one thing amongst others I don't find that was in MIB 2 is that I can't get a view in view on the navigation..meaning when Im to take off from a highway in MIB2 I could do config so a smaller view appeared which showed exactly where to turn off=super useful.. Another thing I can't find is how I set the system up so I can use my iPhones 4G network if I want to download things or use Skoda Connect services like weather and such...So I sort of suspect that its impossible and that they instead made it possible to purchase data packages for that purpose.. And also..in MIB2 it was rather ok to download POI from portal to the car..mut for MIB3 I still have not found out how it actually can be done.. Then again its my second day of owning my Kodiaq so.. Anyway thanks for your help and hope you get a great new years eve..and a happy new year as well.. Cheers Micael
  22. Hi Alan I applied for membership in that facebook group and hope the link goes to some tip then or? best regards Micael
  23. Hi All I just picked up my new Skoda Kodiaq 2021 Sportline today and is a very happy camper... However I would very much want to add speedcameras into the Columbus mib 3.0 system. So how is that done?? There are no SD card reading capability on the car but simply a usb-c (ie not ordinary usb...) Could it be added by a portal?? I have installed the MySkoda app but I cant see that it could be used for this.. So any ideas please help out... I have downloaded the speedcam fles and images from a db so I have that..but how to get it inoto Kodiaq correctly?? I live in Sweden Best regards and a happy new year.
