Thanks for that it's much appreciated. I've just picked my daughter up from work and it drives as if nothing has happened, loads of power, quiet as usual and normal idle speed. I'll check the codes tomorrow and see if it's the same. if so I'll start by checking the voltage to the ECU then pop the ECU and injector plugs off and check each wire individually with a multi meter while giving it a good wiggle. Have you or anyone else on here any idea which cylinders are group B ? I hate intermittent faults, I'd much rather it stopped all together then at least i'd have a chance. A power cut mid overtake is a bit unnerving. I've seen a guy on a video put a capless bulb in the injector connector checking for a signal... Hmm dodgy.

Hi all, This is my first post on here so please be gentle with me, I have a 2010 FL 2.0 CR (CEGA) TDI VRS manual Octavia which I've owned for over 8 years and apart from a new ignition switch, a couple of glow plugs and a dodgy exhaust gas temp sensor its been absolutely great. She's on 87K and totally standard apart from the ECU emissions update. The services have been done on time by me including the cam belt, I'm a fleet mechanic so I'm not afraid to get stuck in and do it right. A couple of weeks ago on my way to work it cut out at 70MPH and the glow plug light flashed on. After quickly dipping the clutch and switching off and on again while still rolling it went back to normal. I'm used to doing that after owning a 2001 Octavia 1.9 TDI for many years and having turbo vanes sticking issues now and again. I ran a scan with a workmates Snap on diagnostic tool which showed up the following code 08521 Supply Voltage for Fuel Injector Group B: Open Circuit P2149 intermittent. I checked the security of the connections which seemed fine and she's gone another 500 miles without any faults until tonight when she did it again. After I switched her off and on again this time the light has gone off but it seems to be a bit more hesitant and surges very slightly. The injectors sound a bit noisier than usual too and also the idle is up to about 1000rpm. I haven't been able to plug the diagnostic in yet but I will first thing in the morning. My small MAC pocket scanner brought no faults up which is confusing. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance>

Just a quick hello to everyone, I've come upon this site a few times over the years when I've had problems and thought its about time I stuck my toe in and joined. I currently drive a 2010 Octavia 2.0 TDI CR VRS which I've had for 8 years and covered 80K in. Prior to that I had a 2001 Octavia 1.9 TDI Elegance for 8 years which my wife still has to this day, which is on 208K now. I also own a couple of motorbikes which we won't go into. I have done all my work over the years and hope I can help a bit as well as learn a bit. One thing I'm not so hot with is forums and chat rooms so please go easy on me.. LOL .
