Hi all,
This is my first post on here so please be gentle with me, I have a 2010 FL 2.0 CR (CEGA) TDI VRS manual Octavia which I've owned for over 8 years and apart from a new ignition switch, a couple of glow plugs and a dodgy exhaust gas temp sensor its been absolutely great. She's on 87K and totally standard apart from the ECU emissions update.
The services have been done on time by me including the cam belt, I'm a fleet mechanic so I'm not afraid to get stuck in and do it right.
A couple of weeks ago on my way to work it cut out at 70MPH and the glow plug light flashed on. After quickly dipping the clutch and switching off and on again while still rolling it went back to normal. I'm used to doing that after owning a 2001 Octavia 1.9 TDI for many years and having turbo vanes sticking issues now and again.
I ran a scan with a workmates Snap on diagnostic tool which showed up the following code
08521 Supply Voltage for Fuel Injector Group B: Open Circuit P2149 intermittent.
I checked the security of the connections which seemed fine and she's gone another 500 miles without any faults until tonight when she did it again.
After I switched her off and on again this time the light has gone off but it seems to be a bit more hesitant and surges very slightly. The injectors sound a bit noisier than usual too and also the idle is up to about 1000rpm.
I haven't been able to plug the diagnostic in yet but I will first thing in the morning. My small MAC pocket scanner brought no faults up which is confusing.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance>
