  1. Fronts are et 35, rears are et 15 They're Schmidt Modernlines
  2. Evening, I'm looking for some advice on tyre sizes. Recently bought a staggered set of wheels that were originally for another project but I think I'm going to put them on the Roomster. They're 16", fronts are 7.5J so I was thinking 215/45 16, rears are 9J, would 235/45 16 work? Not interested in the stretch look. Think I've worked it out ok going by standard 16" Roomster size of 205/45 16 on a 6.5J wheel. Rob
  3. Hello, Bit of a long shot but I'm looking for part number 6Y9 860 035 C, it's a washer/gasket that sits under the centre support on roof rails for a MK1 Fabia Estate. Would anyone have one? New/used I don't mind Rob
  4. Thanks Lee, very helpful They appear to have been superseded by N 90732102 which doesn't look like it would fit, however the size appears to be fairly common so I'll hopefully find a suitable alternative
  5. Hi folks, Changed my cabin/pollen filter today and replaced my heater fan resistor too, both fairly straightforward jobs Wanted to remove the fan motor to check for leaves and debris but got stumped with one screw, can anyone advise how to remove this (pic below) Would anyone know the part number of these screws or would anyone have any spare? Could do with a few as I managed to lose one somewhere and I'm pretty sure there was also one missing Rob
  6. Thanks everyone, that's helpful, I'll get the new fob ordered
  7. It's a key key, 2 button remote that detaches from the key part to replace the battery
  8. Evening, found the source of my leak after the torrential rain we had over the last few days, definitely coming through the windscreen seal dripping directly onto the drivers seat. Bought some 'Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure' and hopefully that'll sort it but if not I'll book it in for the screen out and re-seal. Noticed a wee bit of rust on the leading edge of the roof so might need to have the screen out anyway to have that investigated and addressed
  9. Hello, I'm looking to buy a new remote fob so I can have a spare key (only got 1 at the moment). How do I determine if I need a 315MHz or 434MHz one? I see both listed on eBay for MK1s. Mine is an 02 52 Combi Rob
  10. So after leaving the headliner off overnight, no drips around the top of the inside of windscreen this morning, no condensation on the roof, all appeared well However, once I returned to the car after driving it to work this morning I noticed a damp patch on the drivers seat (see photo). Now there's nothing directly above the seat that could drip this amount of water (no headliner, just bare metal) so my only conclusion is that the action of closing the drivers door is causing the water to be forced out of wherever it may be. Any ideas guys? I'm totally lost. Checked the rubber trim where the headliner sits into and it's dry. Starting to regret this purchase...
  11. Afternoon folks, Little update, removed the headliner today to get a better look at things, nothing obvious. Pretty wet/condensation from the front up to about the B pillar, some towards the rear but not as much. Going to leave it off for a few days so I can pinpoint where the water is coming in. Managed to break both sunvisor clips and one of the rear courtesy lights (was not in a good mood by this point) so they'll need to be sourced and replaced. Weird one though, prior to removing the headliner, my central locking was kind of working from the remote key, opened the doors but not the boot, now it'll only unlock. There's nothing up the liner I could've dislodges that would cause this is there? Just coincidence? I've left the courtesy lights unplugged, would make a difference? Also, found a random black cable when I removed the headliner, doesn't appear to have been attached to anything and no exposed wires at the end as if it's been pulled out a plug anywhere, about 65 inches long. Rob
  12. Hi folks, My fuel filler flap release cable has detached itself, just wondering how to get the rear panel off to reattach it. I've seen guides for the hatchback but on an estate it looks like I'm going to have to remove a fairly large panel. Has anyone done it before that can offer some advice? Rob
  13. Cheers, saved me buying the wrong ones on eBay
  14. Evening, Are the rear lights on the hatchback interchangeable with those on an estate? I'm looking to change my rear lights to the later version. Will I need new bulb holders or are they the same? Cheers, Rob
  15. Brill, thanks @TMBI'll keep my eyes out for a MK2 set
  16. Quick question....I see some posts saying MK3 seats fit, are they a direct fit or is there any MacGuyvering required? Looking to replace my seats and see plenty MK3 sets on eBay but I'd rather buy something I know will be a straight fit
  17. Looking through the receipts I got with the car it's had the screen replaced a few years back I might actually just arrange to get it done at a local windscreen place and get it sorted properly, wouldn't imagine it would cost too much
  18. Yeah, I've bought the clear Plumbers Gold so hopefully minimise how bad it's going to look It'll do to get through the worst of the winter and I can address it properly when the better comes around
  19. Can't work out how to edit a post so should add I'd be running the bead of Plumbers Gold on the outside, essentially filling the gap (where the windscreen seal sits) between the top of the windscreen and the front of the roof
  20. Hi folks, I've got a fairly decent leak dripping from the N/S of the top of the windscreen, would this just be the windscreen seal failing or could it be from somewhere else (my car doesn't have the raised roof rails). Only other place I could think of is the aerial base leaking but mine is an estate and that would be a fair distance for the water to travel. If it's the windscreen seal I was thinking of just running a thick bead of clear Plumbers Gold along the top of the windscreen seal, good idea or stupid one? Rob
  21. @TMBThanks, that gives me a few things to have a look at Noticed the rear footwells are wet too, looks like a fairly straightforward fix sealing up the rear door carriers (I'll check the rear wash wipe pipe hasn't become disconnected too)
  22. Evening, I picked up an '02 1.9SDI Estate knowing it needed a bit of work, mostly cosmetic and interior stuff not working I haven't really given it a proper going over but what I have found is the following: - Drivers door lock won't lock the doors but will open them (haven't been able to try the remote key, doesn't work, assuming battery is flat) No buzzer/warning to advise the lights have been left on Electric front windows don't work/work intermittently A/C doesn't work (I'm assuming it just needs a regas - hopefully) Front 12v/cigar socket doesn't work, the one in the boot does Starter motor screeches a bit, looks easy enough to replace Rear wash wipe doesn't spray water, from what I've read there are 2 areas to check in the engine bay and one under the C pillar trim, hopefully an easy fix I will use the search function but just curious if the issue with the electric windows and the door locking is connected, maybe a faulty module or something? Interior is pretty grubby so I'm looking to replace with a MK3 Fabia set. Presumably the door cards from the MK2 or MK3 won't fit? I think that's everything for now, any help suggestions will be most welcome Rob
  23. Hello folks, proud new owner of an '02 1.9SDi Estate. Bought it on a bit of a whim, I have a VW T5 Swamper (lift kit & A/T tyres) so the Fabia will be used for going to work and lugging the dogs about. Went for the 1.9SDi as it looks like it gives decent mpg. The one I bought is pretty rough on the outside but mechanically sound. Lots of little niggly things wrong with it but that's part and parcel of running an old vehicle. I'll post all my questions in the appropriate sections! You all seem like a friendly, helpful bunch, wish the T5 forums were like this one Rob
