  1. I bought a new Kamiq in August 2020 and noticed that after rainfall the driver’s door retained water which drained out when opened. This happened every time it rained. I explained the problem to the dealer who tested the car for 2 days and returned it with a report conceding the problem and stating that they had tested a number of stock Kamiqs and all had a similar problem. They stated the problem had been referred to Skoda UK who said this was not a fault but a design characteristic and therefore the dealer had no responsibility. After this I referred the matter directly to Skoda UK who after considerable delay restated the dealerships conclusion. In the hope of getting some common sense out of them I wrote to Skoda Head Office in Europe but eventually received the same response. So I have purchased a brand new car which according to the manufacturer has a design characteristic meaning that every time it rains water is retained in the driver’s door. Skoda seem completely unconcerned that a new owner may not wish to have a car with this particular characteristic and provide no explanation as to why it is not mentioned in any of their sales literature. Are there any other unfortunates in the same situation? I am at a loss what to do but will at the very least write to every motoring organisation, magazine and advice forum available in the hopes of alerting other potential buyers.
