Hi Some years ago I swapped 5E0035871D unit with more advanced one. Before selling that car I tried to put old one back but CP protection kicked in. So I sold with new unit in. Now cleaned my room found that old unit (5E0035871D) CP is active. Thinking maybe it is nice project to try to remove it. I have some skills with reading/writing eeprom. I can do soldering. I know I can walk with that unit to dealer and ask to use ODIS to remove CP but that is not so interesting to hack it by my own. I know if component is not under CP then you can swap eeproms and get new unit to work. But is it possible to clean CP using hex editor? For that information about memory area where CP living in eeprom is needed and decoding information also. So is it doable without owning very-very special tools and skills? Br, Margusja

Hi About year ago replaced Amundsen MIB2 with Swing radio unit. Still works fine. One day just thought can I put original Swing back in case I want. Turned out I can not. component protection kicked in. Just wanted to know why? Swing radio is from that car I tried to put it back.

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
MargusRoo replied to nopowerman's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hi. Any updates for 5Q0035874C with firmware 0478 ? -
Hi. Great topic. I read it to the end. I have 2020 Octavia MK3 with a Swing radio - 5E0035871D There is no radio unit in glovebox. As I understand Swing is so basic that unit is behind of screen. The question is what my options to upgrade to full glass look? I am quite happy with a functionality of swing but looking more fashion look. Br Margus
