  1. My Skoda Octavia 1.0 TSI 2019 with start/stop is only about 2 years old, but a couple of times now the car has shown that the battery voltage is low. Idle voltage is 11.80 when measured directly to the battery with a multimeter, so I decided it was time to change the battery. The old battery is a 59Ah battery, although there is actually room for a bigger one. At the moment I am also only able to find a 70Ah battery, which would fit since the mounting bracket does have an extra hole. And besides, with start/stop, A.C., full digital cockpit, and whatever this car is running on electricity, a bigger battery would not be a bad idea in my opinion. I have found dozens replacements batteries from reputable brands such as Varta and Bosch, but upon looking into this, I understand that some people recommend to reprogram the VCDS of the car. Do I really need to do that? I also saw a guy using a standard OBD tool and a phone to code the battery, this seemed significantly easier. Would this be a better option?
