  1. Thanks for taking the trouble to reply Mazzer. As the oil was so cheap and it was so worryingly thin I’ll probably do as you suggest and replace it, despite hating to waste anything. I’ll maybe try writing to Mannol in Germany (using Google translate, sadly) and see what they say - probably that it’s as good as any other despite its low viscosity! I’ll post their reply if I get one Cheers!
  2. Just bought Mannol 75W80 g GL4 gear oil to top-up gearbox. Amazed to see how thin it was. Poured and mixed almost like water. Never seen a gear oil so thin. Very concerned. 5l bottle was sealed so not tampered with. Would be worried about the viscosity if it were a 5W30 engine oil. Saw a blog elsewhere about it used in a VW. Owner noticed excess noise and poor gear changing. Drained and replaced with VW oil and all fine. I’m going to do the same. Any comments would be helpful.
