Recently purchased a new Kodiaq, and unfortunately I have had more faults on this car than 4 years and 80000 miles with my Nissan Xtrail. Bonnet open warning came on after about 10 miles of picking up the car, opened and closed the bonnet a couple of times, didn’t work. If the car thinks the bonnet is open it automatically stops the wipers working which isn’t good when it’s dark and pouring with rain. It was a scary drive home.
The car is fitted with the Columbus Satnav system that doesn’t know where it is. It has asked me to turn left now, when I am doing 70 mph on a motor way and also do a U turn. It even told me to stay on this road for 376 miles. It has been into the dealer who changed the aerial, and then also updated software, worked for 30 seconds then back to being about 6 miles from my actual location. Been in 3 times to the dealer and still doesn’t work. Going in again this week dealer wants to keep it for a few days. Recently the car thought that I was actually in the Bristol Channel just off Swansea Bay, shame it wasn’t. It’s really odd because the Skoda Connect system knows exactly where it is, when I park on my drive, it tells me that the doors or widows are closed and actually shows on a map on my I phone where it is, but the Satnav thinks I am in a field 300 yards from my house.
The system where you can just swipe your hand in front of the display screen has stopped working but according to the car is switched on.
All in all very disappointed. I was under the impression that Skoda’s are really reliable. If it continues like this I will reject the car and they can have it back.
