  1. I have a 2003 superb and the engine workshop alarm has come up. Also the cruise control has stopped working. The alarm fist came up when I pulled away quite quickly across a buisy road. The car has done 126000 miles. I wonder if it is a sensor on the clutch though there are no obvious signs of clutch wear, I know the cruise control is shut down if the clutch is depressed. Is it a question of adjustment and what is ithe procedure.
  2. I had a similar problem had a test done, nothing but the water still disappeared. I think it was going into the oil. Bought a tin of leak repairer it is American stuff and it cured the problem instantly for a tenner.
  3. On this subject, I also get the beep but the sensors don't work at all. At one stage they worked when I pressed a button on the key fob with it in the ignition >I have recently changed the battery on the keyfob - could this be a problem?
  4. Is there any advantage in having a superb 1.9/130 remapped from the point of view of fuel consumption. Mine is not bad averaging out at 48 overall. However would like to get more if I can. I am not interested in the power which i feel is more than adequate at 130hp.
  5. The buying experience got off to a rocky start due to the casual rudeness of the salesman. A lovely car however. Servicing has been beset by poor standards on their part which they seem unwilling to comment on. It cost me over £300 to get the interior light fixed because, as they admitted at the time they were not aware of the generic problem with the pollen filter leaking water. added to that I had my alloy wheels damaged whilst in service and was rewarded with a quick rub and a bit of spray paint. No apology, I felt that my complaint was regarded as frivolous. I am not impressed to say the least.
  6. OK not fixable does anyone know of a reasonably cheap place to get a headlight assembly?
  7. Can the headlight assembly be dismantled to clean it out - mine has some water in it.
  8. I am trying k-seal which is a preparation poured into the cooling system. I am told that it is very effective - we shall see. Thanks everyone for your useful comments. it is such a maze when you open the bonnet which kind of induces panic.
  9. I am getting coolant loss but there are no signs of water on the drive. I have had the system checked to see if there is a problem with the head gasket and that seems to be OK , no gas in the coolant. I have also changed the filler cap to make sure that it is not a problem with the relief valve. Has anyone else has mysterious losses of this kind?
  10. Recently I had a bulb changed by the local Skoda Dealer and now it is full of condensation - what a surprise, bad work! How do I remove the fron passenger side unit to clear it out? Thanks Ivan
  11. Stupidly I had a bulb changed by my local Skoda dealer and now the unit is full of condensation - poor workmanship from them comes as no surprise! How do I remove the passenger side headlight unit and dismantle it - is that possible ? Thanks Ivan
