Hi,
I'm hoping to get some info on fitting an aftermarket jvc head unit into a Skoda Yeti, 2009, to replace the old Bolero unit.
My main issue initially is the physical fitting of the actual JVC cage and head unit, which is a JVC KW-560BT. The head unit is double din but with a short body, and as such supplied with a short double din cage.
It seems that the aperture on the Yeti is wider than double din at the opening, and becomes double din size further back, where there are slots for the original cage to lock into, before it is screwed in place at the front. The new unit seems far too small to get any sort of holding in the front section of the aperture.
With a lot of aftermarket facia/adaptor kits about, some of which seem a bit pricey, I am feeling really unsure of what to do next and don't want to waste money on an unnecessary/incorrect adaptor. I am aware I will need at least a new facia plate to cover the gap at the front.
All help very welcome!
