  1. Halfords fitted correct new battery £184 fitted and coded, I was expecting a £25fitting charge, result! Thanks for all input👍
  2. I have already booked with Halfords now, will cancel the euro Skoda lot,rip off! As you say, correct battery, five year warranty and much as I m not keen on Halfords they win this one!
  3. Thank you for that,I called them (as they could nt be bothered)they said the battery was now in and i asked what make he said EFF and seemed clueless as to what I was on about when I questioned on AGM ! Did your car need re coding?
  4. Thank s for your input. Decided to get local euro skoda dealer involved, they said battery should be in by Tuesday. No choice, just whatever brand they come up with? Sounds pants to me, what happened to customer service? Now Wednesday still no call. If I replace battery with same amp capacity will it still need coding?
  5. Hi all, My Octavia battery has died partly induced by covid lack of use no doubt! I want to replace it ,hopefully with a higher amperage battery or if that's problematic a correct replacement, prefererably Varta/Bosch Yuasa as I have had good results previously. I am finding a lot of batteries are wrong terminal configuration(My positive terminal is on left front of battery,)but others are reversed. Getting some crazy prices over £300 ,but feel much over a £100 is excessive. I live in Worthing but local euro car parts are quoting silly numbers! I used to work in the car trade but hoping someone can point me to a good source for the correct item? Also instead a few posts on here saying a new battery may need software update? Many thanks dave
