  1. The thing that gets me is that they went to all the trouble of doing the mouldings but forgot about mudflaps  I commute along some small roads that connect farms and they are full of mu at this time of year - it all end up up the car and along the sills, some if it is pretty gritty as well with the weather getting cold. Ohh please some mudflaps! Dealer says no news or ideas on when they will be coming out Apart from that, I love it! (and that is coming from 4 LR Discos!) CHeers Dave
  2. MJMuch, I drive through that junction everyday and saw that accident. At the time I thought 'how on earth' as I drove right past the the nose of the van (on to Skene) directed by the policeman of course. I hope that you are both alright and your wife makes a full recovery! It honestly looked like the sort of accident where it might have been touch and go for someone:thumbdwn: I guess that you were the silver/grey TT over on the verge as I went past. Looked pretty mangled. Spec Cars in are useless - I went 450miles just to not use them and am very happy with it all at the moment! Dave
  3. ColinD, It is the diesel, 2.0TDI PD. MPG is pretty good on paper and I am expecting it to ease off by about 1000 miles. Cheers Dave
  4. Yeah, thanks. Unfortunately it has rained since I got it and my drive to work goes past several farms so it is pretty mucky. I was very very nervous of the colour until I got it - there was only silver demos available up here and a Occy estate looks pretty dark in the Anthracite grey, but the Scout looks great I think Cheers Dave P.S - Fantastic photos you have on your Flickr link!!
  5. I just bought my Scout from Rainworth and could not be happier with their service. Jeremy Taylor was top notch and gave me an out-standing deal. Remember this dealer is about 450miles away from me! Delivered the car two days ago and they could not have been better Dave
  6. :thumbdwn: I went in several months ago and met with Ross, looking for a Scout (or a Octavia 4x4). He just was not interested and gave me an abysmal price for my trade in and nothing off the list as he stated that he had marked up my trade in. Even when shown a printout of the parker's page for my car and a internet deal for the Scout he came out with the same old "Would you trust a person over the internet" etc etc etc. Even when I said there was no trade in, he only offered about £400 off the list price, options at full list. Complete joker. I went to a dealer about 400miles away and saved nearly £2500, so Specialist (needs) Cars. I met with Brian later on and he is great but had only started, I had already spoken with Ross so his hands were mostly tied. Shame, because he is genuine bloke and usually does a great deal (I know him from a different sales franchise!). Funnily enough, I had a 15min phone call from Skoda Customer Service UK, asking why I bought elsewhere, why I did not use the local dealer etc etc. Someone must have moaned:confused: Dave
  7. I have just taken delivery of my Scout. So far I think it is great, very comfortable interior, lots of toys as well. I took the Xenon, curtain and head-restraint options when I ordered; body colour is anthracite grey. I have to say the Xenons are the dogs danglies, along with the rain sensing wipers and the light assistant. I still have to get used to the hill hold control thing which seems a bit odd. So far, 450miles in and I am getting about 39mpg on my commuter run. This used to average about 27mpg in my Discovery II which I sold for this (with a 12 week gap in a Felicia 1.6 - ebay £450 ). 2 day in, this car is great!! Cheers Dave
