I only have a basic Carista unit from a previous VW. I’ll also keep looking for a camera and see what I can find. So that it can all be coded at once. Then I just need to locate the pins for when the RCA is cut off, unless there is some sort of adapter? thank you.

Just to add the seller was able to code the system for my car. He asked me for my VIN and then confirmed it was an estate etc

So I removed the lower trim ok, but still don’t see upper and lower releases for the screen.

Ok, Now im very confused, because I dont have mirror link, car-play etc.... So to get the best functionality from what I have bought, I Ideally need an amunsden screen? Is that correct?

The seller agreed to include a GPS reciever with, but im not overly worried about that once I have Carplay enabled. I find google maps to be better than most OEM automotive systems Im not really sure I understand all the differences between the units, I just know my current looks completely different from this one, and this one will give me car play! LOL Thanks again

Thanks for this. I have a set of keys for removing the unit in the glove box, and I am happy with that, I just hadnt noticed anywhere for the keys to go for the screens removal. Ill have a closer look shortly. Im upgrading the unit entirely to get car play functionality. Link to what Ive bought in the first post (Already has CP removed etc) If like to find a genuine one, but that is proving hard.

Hi Guys, Just looking for a bit of help. Owned this car, 2014 65k, in great condition for a few weeks now, but decided the standard stereo wasnt up too it, I need carplay back! I have purchased this item on ebay, Which I believe comes with everything needed for the swap. GENUINE SKODA OCTAVIA 3 SAT NAV MIB2 DAB CARPLAY | eBay My question on this is, how does the oem screen come out? I cant see anywhere for keys etc? (I believe its a bolero unit?) Also, Id quite like to fit a reversing camera at the same time. Does anyone have any tried and tested reccomendations? Ive read various threads and see people talking about cutting the hole for the handle bigger, etc and if that the case then Ill just leave it. I would be looking for a unit that fits in the existing.
