Thanks for that. According to the DVLA document it actually states "SKODA 120L 5 SPEED". I bought it as a rolling chassis not operational. Unfortunately The gear knob has no markings on it. Definitely a swinging half axle car. A bit concerned now, is there any way of checking without taking the gearbox apart? Regards

Good morning I am building a Banham 550 Spyder which is based on a Skoda 120LS. I was hoping to link an Alphasud 1500 engine to the Skoda 5 speed gearbox. I have had an adapter plate made & now need the Skoda 1st motion shaft extended & adapted to suit the Alphasud engine. I know its been done before but the first gearbox company I approached said the Alpha engine is too torquey for the Skoda gearbox. Any comments please or name of somebody who can do the modification?
