Thanks for your reply! Yes, it's is the 122hp CAXA engine. Interested to hear if anyone else can clarify whether the Octavia changes were carried over to the yeti before 2013.. ?!

On further searching, I see that 2011/12 1.4 TSi's apparently DID suffer the problem: ... So, given that the consequences are so dire, I think I might look for a later model.

Hi Group. I am thinking of buying a June 2013 Yeti 1.4 TSi with 28K on the clock @£8490. However, this model has a timing chain rather than a belt, and after a bit of research, I am a bit scared about the consequences of chains stretch/slippage. Apparently that was a known issue on the 1.2 TSi engines, so much so that there was a SKoda internal bulletin describing it as a known issue & recommending replacement chain / tensioner etc.. So, my question is, would that issue affect the 2013 1.4 TSi...? Many thanks in advance for your comments! Tom
