  1. Initial response from Skoda UK 'Thank you for getting in contact with me. Whilst the repair the camera was fitted by a Skoda Approved Retailer if the fitment of the camera is causing issues with the vehicle, it would need to be addressed with the Retailer who performed this. This would not be covered under the Manufacturers Warranty because this was not a factory fit option, nor is this standard equipment. I would recommended that the diagnosis is undertaken and we can discuss next actions at that point. Thank you for contacting ŠKODA UK. Kind regards' Spoke with them and they didn't realise the camera is a standard factory fit on the Edition. ???????? They thought I had it fitted after I purchased it. Doesn't inspire confidence. See what happens tomorrow.
  2. WHAT !!! Just had a call from the second main dealer, my car goes into them next Tuesday. They tell me that if the lane assist problem is caused by the camera, it was replaced by the first dealer 14 months ago, they would have to charge me as it would not be covered by warranty. Basically dealer 1 replaces camera Feb 2000, lane assist does not work and they cannot fix it. Skoda UK say take it elsewhere. Dealer 2 now saying they cannot replace camera, if its faulty, on warranty and I would have to pay. E mailed Skoda UK and awaiting a reply. John
  3. Hi VRT yes the lane indicators change colours, orange when they are detected and white when not. It had a new camera fitted on its first service and I am not sure if its worked since ( No motorway driving for a bit)
  4. Hi VRT24 yes its on in both maxidot and infotainment. The message in the video only seems to flash up when the maxidot is on the assist setting? Thanks John
  5. Skoda UK have advised to visit another main dealer, booked in for the 8/6/21. MJ1 do you get the same error message, shown in the video, in the maxidot screen when you start up. The main dealer I have been going to say they checked another Karoq and that was the same, its just the system starting ?? Thanks John
  6. Just about given up on this, the main dealer says the message 'Lane Assist Deactivated' is normal and nothing to worry about? Still no steering wheel feedback whatsoever from the lane assist but the main dealer will not accept its faulty. See the video. VID_20210525_145826.3gp
  7. Hi I am still no further forward with this, spent 4 hours at Robinsons in Norwich, who still say nothing wrong !!!!. Spoke with the salesman who sold me the car who agreed that lane assist should give steering wheel feedback if you cross lane markings when its active and you don't indicate. Service department still not interested. BUT When I got home I sat in the vehicle and switched it off then switched it back on and very briefly Lane Assist deactivated flashed up on the maxi dot screen. I checked the main menu and Lane assist and adaptive lane guidance are shown as on. What can cause this to happen, anyone any ideas? John
  8. Hi kenfowler3966 mine will now stay in lane if you loosely hold the steering wheel. It will not allow you to cross the lane marking. If I slowly steer across the lane markings on a dual carriage way there is no feedback/vibration to the steering wheel which I am sure it did before the new camera was fitted. The garage told me today that they cannot fit/calibrate the camera themselves it has to go to the local VW garage. Hopefully I am going in on Monday to drive another Karoq so the service manager/technician can see the difference. Thanks John
  9. MJ1 Thanks for your reply. The main dealers Master Technician just doesn't accept that I should get a feedback to the steering wheel. The camera was replaced a while back, not driven much due to covid, so it probably stems from that. Thanks John
  10. Is there there anyone who has Lane Assist and Adaptive Lane Guidance that can confirm that if I am driving at over 50 mph on a dual carriageway if I cross the lane markings with no indicator I should get a steering wheel vibration/correction? My car was at the main dealers for 5 days and although the ALG seems to hold centre lane much better I get no steering wheel feedback if I cross the lane markings. Anyone help? Phoning the Service Manager again today and just want to check I have it right. Thanks John
  11. Hi VRT24, thanks for your reply, both lane assist and adaptive lane guidance are shown in the infotainment system and both are ticked on. It makes me think that when the camera was replaced a year ago it was not properly calibrated. Due to the lockdown I hardly drove for most of the last year. My ALG ping pongs me from one side of the lane to the other. Thanks John
  12. Thanks for your reply. The green lane symbols are lit and no steering wheel 'wobble' as I cross lane markings (No indicators) The ALG lets me weave from inside of lane to outside of lane so it seems this does need some adjustment. No motorways in Norfolk but a couple of good A roads.
  13. Hi I have a 2019 Karoq Edition and have a problem with the ALG and/or Lane assist. The car was fitted with a new camera last year when it packed up. I can now drive on a dual carriageway and the car will stay in between the lane markings, although it weaves from one side to the other. I assume this is the adaptive lane guidance working? I can drive across the white lane marking on a dual carriageway at 60 mph, no indicators, and the is no corrective feedback to the steering wheel? Is the the Lane Assist not working? The car was recently serviced and the main dealer said it was all working as it should. I questioned this as when the car was new I spent time on fast country roads where you could cut the bends a bit and there was a vibration from the steering wheel on crossing the white lane markings. I was invited to the garage to speak with the Master Technician who was unable to explain the difference between ALG and Lane Assist. The garage have now spoken with Skoda UK who, I am told, asked them to compare it to a same model car of the same age and see if there is any difference in the assist systems. The service advisor said 'No similar cars in stock so you will have to wait' Not very happy with the main dealer !! I am correct the adaptive lane guidance works, although it seems it may need fine tuning? I am correct that the Lane assist is not working, no corrective feedback to steering wheel.? Thanks in advance John
