Do you feel mis sold on your mk4
Ive had a VRS Estate for just about a year now with about six returns to the dealer for a number of reasons (Heater, Fan Noise, Sat Nav issues) but most importantly is the problem with the Front Assist system applying the emergency braking for no reason what so ever. I have been driving at 40mph on a straight road with no obstacles or potential risk to the car and suddenly the alarm goes off and the brakes go on. I have taken it back to the dealer and they did a software update to rectify the problem but its come back. Quite frankly this is a very dangerous system. I have now turned it off completely before I have an accident. Anyone else suffering from this? This is the final straw, the car is lethal. I think it will be going back. Its a shame as it is a great car to drive etc..

Octavia Mk IV VRS Front Assist - DANGEROUS BEHAVIOR

Noisy Heater / Aircon?
UPDATE: I took my VRS back into the dealer to check out the problem. They didnt give me a reason for the whistle but when I left the forecourt, no whistle! Great I thought, job done. However by the time I got home (15 mins later) it was back. No fix. So looks like I will be going back again.... grrrr.

Noisy Heater / Aircon?
Its a great car to drive and very practical as I am sure you will agree. The tech does take some time to get to but its worth it in the end.

Noisy Heater / Aircon?
Ive been back and forth with my new VRS to the dealer, mostly about the infotainment system not working and the heater being permanently on furnace temperature. They did a wholesale software update for that but this is something they havent addressed. I'll ask them again. Dont get me started on the lack of travel updates on the sat nav or the lethal cruise control braking system!!!

Noisy Heater / Aircon?
Nope, I've tried all the vents, every combo on the clima system. It's a fan somewhere that is permanently on. High pitched whistle like an old 486 PC. Very annoying.

What colour is your vRS?
Batmobile Black with green and purple lighting inside. To the bat cave (or Wetherspoons), which ever is closest!

Noisy Heater / Aircon?
aye, tried that. the whistle / hum noise is there when the aircons not even on... it sounds similar to a high pitched laptop fan. I'll keep switching things on and off and opening and closing vents to see if it stops. I'll probably end up taking the bloody dash off to find it!

Noisy Heater / Aircon?
Hi, has anyone noticed the high pitched whistle from the climatronic (heater/aircon) when its on, even on a very low setting? Any ideas on how to reduce the noise? Ive got a new Mk IV VRS, I had a 2013 Superb before and it never made a noise. Its quite noticeable when the engines off...

Playing media through SD Card
IanH05, Many thanks for the tip on using a dedicated memory stick instead of an adaptor, works a treat. Now I can play call my old Des O'Connor and Manilow records in me car! 😁

Playing media through SD Card
Aye, ive got spotify on android running through the infotainment and its great, not sure that I want to see the album cover all the time mind when I am driving. But every now and again i like to listen to 'old school' albums that I own, also I find the signal plays up when out in the sticks and when it drops out you have to go back in again, so listening on the 'stick' would be great.

Playing media through SD Card
Hi, Ive got a Mkiv VRS and i did have the usb 3 working for a while with about 28gb of albums on it, using a Micro SD Card Adaptor and 128gb card. The car has been back to skoda a few times now for software updates due to the heater being stuck on full or not coming on at all. Anyway, since the last software update its stopped reading from the USB port completely and the bluetooth for media files completely confuses me, is this your phone?? Ive asked Skoda to look into it (again). Also, the port is really exposed in the central console and when you put the adaptor in the USB 3 port it can tend to be knocked about by keys, phones and things. I furnished a little protective case using a plastic bottle lid as there doesnt appear to be anything designed for this on the market. The old SD port in the console was a much better design if you ask me... Anyone got any bright ideas on what the best folder structure is for reading music files so it works well with the infotainment system...?
