Hi all,
I’m new to the forum, but have had a search around and haven’t seen the answer to this before, so am posting this question.
I have an 05 octavia, 1.9 pd engine, 103bhp, which I’m pretty sure I’m getting the signs of DMF failure. Not a huge concern, as I did a bit of research before getting the car and was pleased with the lack of troublesome DPF, but understood the perhaps equally troublesome DMF is installed on the car.
I’ve started to notice a sort of dull knocking sound I can hear when idling, it isn’t totally regular, which I think is signs of the DMF beginning to fail. I’ve also recently started to get a squeak when lifting the clutch when the car is in first. Initially I thought perhaps engine mountings or something squeaking, but I don’t get it bringing the car to a stop, or accelerating quickly, which if it was engine mountings I assume it would do.
Anyway, even if this isn’t the DMF failing, I’d like to convert the car to SMF as I’d love to keep it going for as long as I possibly can. And prevention is always better than cure, right?
Finally, my question. I’ve been looking at the Valeo 4 part kit to convert to SMF, and wondered if anyone could confirm the Valeo kit number needed for my car. I’ve seen a kit on ECP/CP4L part number 633440070, but from older links I’ve seen on the site it doesn’t appear to be the same part number which others have posted.
I *think* the correct valeo kit number is 835035. I don’t know what valeo kit number the ECP/CP4L part number tallies up to, but was going to phone them tomorrow to confirm. Just wondered if you guys could point me in the right direction so I know exactly what is the right one for my car.
I had seen an older link to ECP/CP4L part number 633440150, but this doesn’t come up under my reg when I put it in. I’ve found 835035 for sale on Amazon of all places, for less than either the two above even with their discount code. I’ll order it if it’s the right part.
Thanks in advance for your assistance. Apologies if this has been confirmed before, but like I said I did look but couldn’t see it.
Cheers,
Alex
