  1. So the wiring harness has been replaced now, but we're still intermittent errors. Just ordered a scrappy ECU from eBay as the next suspect down the chain (possibly a dry solder joint in there). We'll get it fitted next week and I'll update if that turns out to be the fix.
  2. Not sure of the exact fault code - all I know is it's still indicating the front offside ABS sensor. Tyres are pretty new but I'll check the pressures and condition just in case. I had these faults on my Leon at about the same mileage, but all of them turned out to be wheel bearings and iirc it would usually come on after driving for a minute. The way this comes on with the ignition makes me think that the ECU isn't detecting the sensor exists in the first place, rather than a bad signal from it. The fact it's intermittent maybe suggests a bad connection or a worn but not 100% broken wire somewhere. Hopefully this replacement loom will sort it.
  3. Thanks for the reply. To be fair to my local garage he's not charged me anything for subsequent investigation. Swapped the bearing and sensor out FoC under warranty to rule it out. He's suggesting next thing in the process is probably the wiring loom which there's a replacement section you can get for accident repair. He's costing this up for me atm. If that doesn't work then I might be back here for more ideas!
  4. Hi - hope you can help with some next steps here I've got a 2011 Octavia with 70000m on the clock. I've had two instances of the above warning lights thrown in the last six months or so. First one was easy enough for the garage (rear nearside), but the lights came back on within a few weeks showing a different sensor (front offside this time). This was replaced, but the lights were still coming on from time-to-time so it's been back a couple of times. The garage has now replaced the bearing and sensor again, and reset the fault, but those lights are still coming on. Was OK for a weekend after the last repair then hey presto it's back. Now, perhaps importantly, they come on usually when the ignition is switched on before I start moving. Sometimes they stay on, but often they'll go off again after a few hundred yards of driving. Right now they're coming on more often than not when I get in the car. Can anyone suggest any next steps? I've heard the wiring loom could be at fault. Anything else to suggest to the garage? Thanks for looking

Hello, I'm Colin aka Roki I've been a hoge fan of DSG transmission since I had a Seat Leon, and now have a 1.4 TSI DSG Octavia Elegance from 2011. It's been solid until the last year or so, but I think I'll need this forum's support more and more as it gets older!
