  5. I think it takes a brave person to tackle a job like this. You guys make it sound so easy. I c**p myself washing my car. I see all the stone clips and just keep thinking that they will just go away. One day I will have to do something about them.
  6. Hi Chris I have added you as a friend.
  7. My rear wipe washer is blocked, I thought the pipe had come off..... uncliped the jet, got her in doors to toggle the stick and got a face full of water..... NICE I think I will get a new one, but a nice idea of using de-scaler I think I will try that first. Cheers
  8. I like it...... I am going to it.... off to Tesco for some tin foil and some sticky backed plastic. lol Seriously it looks cool. Do you mind if I ask where you got it from..
  9. Hi Peeps I have just added myself to the Briskoda facebook group, if anyone wants to add me as a friend please feel free.
  10. Cheers Blackspaven, I had already seen this list. I was just thinking that it may have been a little out of date due to it being posted in 07.
  11. "Would the VAG show me if I had other problems with the calibration of my MAS and would I be able to change any settings" I think what I should have said, would I be able to adjust the calibration of the MAS if it was showing high or low. I am aware that this tool would is not used to remap. I am not interested in using it for that I would have no idea were to start and would leave that up to the experts to make my car go faster.
  12. The pipe that popped off was the air intake to the turbo. I was wondering if having the repair /replacement to the DMF would have coursed this problem coupled with my custom remap or am I completely grasping at straws...
  13. Hi Peeps Could anyone help... Over the last few weeks I have had a couple of issues with my car. I have had must of them fixed, but the garage I used did not have the means to reset the warning light. I have read that on the Briskoda VAG-COM forum that it will reset itself after around 40 drives. But I would like to know if anyone in the Manchester area has a VAG-COM who would be kind enough to help. Its really just for peace of mind and if I do have other faults I can get them addressed.
  14. Hi Bud I know that Milotec.de do a trim for the centre unit, Interieur-Dekor The link is for the web site in Germany, there is another company in the UK rsd-uk.co.uk might be able to get them for you. I bought some interiera trim last year, but I found the site in Germany was alot cheaper due to the exchange rate, but in the current climate I feel you may not see any difference.
  15. Thanks for the information, next question I have a warning light on. I have just had my DMF replaced. Also my air inlet to my turbo popped off yesterday. Would the VAG show me if I had other problems with the calibration of my MAS and would I be able to change any settings, or would you know anyone in the Northwest / Manchester, Blackburn area who would be able to assist. For a couple of beers of course Btw I was already aware that this tool was not used to remap the ECU.
  16. OK I am getting a little upset with my car. Yesterday I have just had the DMF replaced and now today on the way home, I heard a pop and the engine lost power lots of smoke from the exhaust. Lucky for me the garage I used are open late. they got the car up in the air removed the under cover and found that an air inlet pipe had just decided to jump out of its place. The air inlet pipe has a small lug on the fitting that seems to have given up the ghost and will not go back in place. They tried out a tempery fix. Which failed when the car went less than 50 yards. I cant wait for the leaves to be out on the tree's, cos i am going to break off a nice big leafy branch and give my car I dam good thrashing, John Cleese style. I will get this filmed via my mobile and post it in the near future. Appologize to the tree huggers out there, but I will try and remove all the little beasties from the branch before the car gets it......
  17. Sorry guys i am new to this part of motoring. But could someone explain to what VAG is and how it would benefit me. i dont mind how technical it gets ( I can look it up)

  19. As promised, I currently have my 15" wheels on my car, due to me needing a new set of tyres on my 17's. I am planning on putting a set of winter tyres on 15" wheels or just getting them fitted to the front. These are the tyres that I use. I have them fitted for £65 each from a local dealer. Manufacturer: Barum (Manufactured by Continental) Tyre: Barum Bravuris 2 Features: * High Perfomance - Bravuris 2 * Asymmetric tread design * Designed to cope with the demands of high performance motoring * Reduced braking distances * Increased cornering and handling on any road surface * Enhances stability whilst maintaining a high level of comfort * Developed for high performance driving * Will not disappoint the cost conscious motorist * Available in 16 different sizes * Speed index: WR, YR * Available profiles: 35, 40, 45, 50, 55
  20. I did the same thing last year. I got a set of 17" Audi A3 alloys 5x112 and wheel nut covers. I found the link below full of great info. The centers on the other hand where a different matter I found Skoda very unhelpful when trying to source. They only go off part numbers not the diameter of hole. I even resorted to walking around a Skoda dealers lot with the original Audi center trying to get a match, and was asked to leave by the Manger when I asked him for his permission (lol). In the end I found a set of correct diameter blank centers on Ebay I had to mod them alittle so they would clip in place and hold. I will try and post a pic so you can see. If you can find the correct center size and part number, you have cracked it. You may have to do what I did. Then if you want, try and find the correct sized adhesive Skoda badge. I didn't look for the badge out of an act of defiance. (rebel lol). I have not had a problem with using the original wheel nuts, i currently don't have a set of locking wheel nuts. Good luck, let me know how you get on. Car Bibles : The Wheel and Tyre Bible Page 2 of 2
