Even my repair story is ended. Few days ago I got the very first signs of problem coming back. Nothing major for now, just slight shake on cold start.. But I know where it will go in month or two... Really considering change the car...

I'm not sure about it.. AC on ir off it didn't made any difference. If I remember right worse was in betwen 1000 - 15000 rpm. Normal driving didn't cause any vibrations. Anyway, it is fixed by now 🙃

I'm trying to get out of the habbit to abandon discussion without updates, but still keep forgetting to come back... I took car back to service next daybor so, told and show what's going on. Man took all the cars out of the garage, got mine, lifted and tighten something. I've asked how much for the fix, Mechanic offered some coffee for me instead 🙃 I didn't even asked what that was. It took literally 2 minutes. He probably forgot something. To complete your answer - no, AC on/off didn't make any difference. And I didn't checked hoses as you suguested, hadn't enough time, and later forgot about it..

Frame rate in the video ruined a video. (Same as you see propelers of helicopter not spinning on the fly) In reality it is crazy vibration just above 1000 rpm up to 1100-1200. I spotted it on highway traffic when had to slow down from 100 to about 60kmh and then had to keep that speed. Didn't happen for rest driving until get to town and then same moving off at roundabout or traffic lights. So stopped at parking to investigate. Wife not good at keeping revs even, so not easy to spot on the video again. Best moment to spot it somewhere about in 35th second in the video. Hope I'll be ok for today's work-home drive. My garage almost across the street at home 😃 Sorry didn't get that part of question.. "Do any of the hard lines it's connected to have obvious play?" 😵‍💫😊

My understanding is that if all excess of fuel going back to the tank, then same fuel will go trough the fuel filter again.. Unless the fuel filter can't filter these particles? And yes you right and I agree with you high fuel problem was the main reason of the problem. Just thinking what the fuel filter able to filter then... 🤔 Never heard about algae. So, if that's done for sure - at least for good then 🙂

Oh.. My bad 😊 They didn't run a compression test as injectors solved the problem... Testing compression was in the case if injectors and fuel pump will not solve the problem. And I'm kind of happy they didn't check, as there was some sort of problems with checking compression. With engine head. They can't remove something from engine, it was burnt in to it or something like that. Have to admit a few things: As I said I have no experience/knowledge about cars in deeper level, and english is not my native language. That's why I struggle to explain some things about compression (because I struggle to understand what they told to me 😜) Anyway, everything was fine, but alternator bearing gone in a few weeks, had it replaced yesterday and today I got another problem That wobbling hose... what the purpose of that hose? She is vibrating very hard, and on about 1000-1100rpm making really loud and scary noise.. Wondering can I drive to work tommorow.. I'm really "lucky" skoda owner...

I forgot to finalise this story. I had two injector repaired, two brand new. Also cleaned all fuel system cleaned, fuel pump repaired. I believe cleaning fuel system was a scam, but anyway. I was told that man who checked injectors found a microscopic metal particles, so they can appear in the fuel system aswell. I asked how did you cleaned the fuel system? He said "Oh... we cleaned the whole tank with clothes, and blowed the fuel pipes with compressed air". My thoughts: microscopic particles cleaned with a cloth? Blowing? Really? Even particles are in the fuel system, then what is the purpose of the fuel filter? 🤔 But anyway. That's the end of this story. Problem solved anyway. Even if suspect garage scam.

Ok. this not really an update but thats where I'm at. From now on I won't be dealing with an offcial dealer (at least for this matter). All below will be related with independant garage. As dealing with dealer garage could cost me half a car 😄 Dealing with a private garage is a pain, everything moves slow (but way cheaper) What I have today: One injector dead, so had to be replaced. Unable to check engine compression because of something (I'm not an advanced car guy). They can't remove something from the engine to check it because part need to be removed is burnt in to (engine?). By forsing to remove the part there is big chance to brake engine head (or something like that). So this check (compression check) has been moved to the very last step of repair if nothing below helps. Rest three injector were cleaned and was ok on testing site. Appears one still not good enough. (Thats pauses all the works for few days). Man who cleaned injectors spotted a metal particle in it. The is a thing: independant garage contacted official Skode dealer, and official dealer suguestion was to replace the whole fuel system - from fuel tank to high pressure pump part only about €5000. We agreed just to clean the wholefuel system which saves a lot of money. If all good after that should be able to escape form garage with €2000 bill. If not - back to engine compression issue. Fix that and happy days. (for how long?) Basically trying to fix broken parts instead of replacing with new ones. I just could imagine official dealer taking 3000 thousand and then saying oh wait, we need 5000 more for aditional parts and also will charge you for work and on top of that we need to replace two more injectors thats one more thousand to the bill. Thats (over 8000) already a half price of the car... PS. Just caugth myself on this: Advert: Car for sale, plenty of extras, running like a clock. 😄 Really considering that option. As most parts will be fixed (not replaced in to new ones) wondering how long I will drive until it happens again... 1 year, 2 years?...

Customer service itself is excellent, that's for sure. Have been with them for a while. Never had a feeling of being robbed for small repairs and routine checks. Bigger works can make your wallet extremely dry... Final verdict - if money not an issue and you really love your car - this is the place to deal with. 👌

In other words I'm giving up - will let do wathewer they think needs to be done. All my knowledge about this repair mainly from this topic. Good chunk of info, but definitely not enough to make wise decisions by myself. So, thanks for all ideas, and suggestions I'll keep you updated when repairs gets done. If someone interested for results.

I wish I had a place to make these tasks. I don't have any private place to make myself busy with my car.. Actually I ended up in situation where I can just wait for results. Should be major update tommorow. Lets hope for good news. Anyway it won't be cheap, I already prepared myself for that. Just sad that 4 years old car can break so hard.. Really didn't expected that.

I was told fuel filter is ok to change on every second oil change. So it wasn't changed with the recent oil change last week.

Dealer asked €1400 for fuel pump, about €430 for a single injector.. I've looked for any hp fuel pump, as I have no clue what kind of I need for my car and I didn't managed to find something more expensive than 1000. 400-800 euro is all I found.

That's my biggest fear, if something in independent garage goes wrong, I then going to pay again.. Fingers crossed now.. I'm amazed by your calculations by the way - thats impressive! I think a official dealer garage don't want to bother much, so they just going to replace everything what on the way.. I still can't believe I need a high pressure fuel pump. All research online suguest that pump is ok. Dealer don't care about it if they want to replace pump it is good opportunity to replace timing belt too. So I won't let change my timing belt (for now) and fuel pump as I believe she is ok. Only 4 injectors left. Will see do I win or loose with my decision... 🤔 I know it is impossible suggest something unless we have realyy fat wallet 😄 (Aka money talks) I'll keep you updated on how things will go for me if you interested. 2 injectors, high pressure fuel pump, timing belt and labour. 🤔

Official garage quoted €3000 for ready to drive again car repairs, i took the car of them. Private garage didn't gave me a full quotation, but expected to save about €1000. Have changed one injector, car is not fixed. Injector price quotation 260 (instead of 450 in skoda garage).

I think I have mentioned I took car of official Skoda dealer garage as I cannot afford to pay that amount for repairs, and co-workers suguested way cheaper independant (private) garage to fix car way cheaper (they all fixing theyr car there). So the car at the moment is not in the Skoda garage... And I have to chace that private garage by phone everyday with, "hi, what's the story".. for a week now. Just because I don't want to use a car in that condition. Otherwise, it would be better to drive it home (about 25km trip) and wait until I can to repair the car (15km to official garage). So, yes, I agree I need someone with a good reputation to check my car, that's the fact. But I can't drive the car 😄 stupid loop 🙃 Private garage hopefully give me updates today in relation to rest 3 injectors - they bringing them to check on some kind of special machine 🤔 And they're appears to be concerned with engine compression. Haha new issue found here! I have watched tons of videos on how to replace injector, I think I would be able to replace injectors by myself in two days (20min job for pro 😃) but I don't have a tools and place..

I'm based in Republic of Ireland, County Kerry. And I'm really afraid of driving, car sitting for a week now in the local garage (not a dealer garage) 25km from my home.. By the way car didn't give any errors (on the dash) even that most popular engine light.. Is that normal? No DPF error, nothing..

Diesel in the Oil And I am not sure about it... have to read more here. I definetly not a guru in cars.. 😞 But fan sometimes humming like a boeing when I leave car parked. Not always. Sometimes fan really quite and stops shortly..

How many km has your car done? A bit over 167000km When was it last serviced & by who? 05 July 2021, 136000km by Skoda dealer What is actually wrong with the car? Engine misfire. Visited dealer to figure out what is that. (Never had diesel before, so wasn't familiar) So they servised (July 2021) gave me bottle additive tu put in the tank and said you should befine. I was fine for about 15000km, just until oil change. It started misfire again. So changed oil (nd something else related), got same botle again. Asked why I should pour it every time? they said if it helps, just don't bother yourself - pour it. I asked again: I want to eliminate problem, not to hide... It would be expensive and probably unnescesary, they answered. Ok... Now again just before oil chnge (in 15000km) symptoms came back, but stronger. Car got jerky not only when cold, but always. Cold engine was really hard speed up from 0 to ~20km/h, then 2-50km/h it was jerky, but not extremely bad. With these symptoms I limite my driving just to work-home qhich is 10 min driving trough town and 15min on highway. On higway 95km/h was my sweet point almost no jerking. Driving in town, gears changing bit too late, I started to change them manually to avoid hig revs. (for me high revs is about 2.500rpm) when acclerating from standstill the clicking noise appears. foot away the accelerator - clicking (banging?) noise gone. (I had same noise with my very old ptrol car by the way). So I headed to dealer with these symptoms. In a few hours they come back to me with news listed in the first post + they want relace timing belt, which in general OK for me. I had plans to do it in about 200000km as dealer recommended year ago. Also they said driving the car now is dangerous as it can completely damage engine and forced me to start repairs. Only coled down when I said Ok fix it, but don't have 3000 in my pocket right now... I drove away to the private garage 5km away. There is different story. They said only one injector is gone, but today they found that it can be all 4 and engine compression must be checked. Nothing about high Pressure fuel pump, by the way. I don't know what to trust.... Well what are they actually saying other than possible nonsense. Possible, beause any of these symptoms about faulty fuel pump doesn't apply to me.. Any. Really poor quality diesel! Do you buy it from some farm or filling stations? For years same single fuel station. Ocasionally somwhere else on the long trips. Circle K. But I never heard that diesel quality in Ireland is good. Never ever heard that. Everyone hate Irish diesel..

Hi, never believed it can go so wrong... Took my car to a dealer for checking up as car got really jerky for about last 7 days.. Ended up with a €3000 quotation for repair works. Decided it's a rip off, but another independant garage slowly but surely following same path... Can't figure out how it went wrong so badly - regular driving nothing extreme.. Ok, car has eco, normal & sport mode, using these modes depending on situation and my mood, can't believe any of these modes can make such a damage to engine. Was told it happens because of poor diesel quality. Can it be true? Some people sugguesting me just replace the engine - it would be cheper at the end - I don't really want to do that tho.. (Is that even legal?) I'm not a guru in the cars in general (basic things only), tried to search by myself for parts like injectors, fuel pumps, have no clue in to what I'm looking... But these parts in general are quite expensive. I know you not going to fix that for me, but wondering did I missed something, maybe there are interesting solutions (like "any garage don't want to you to know this").. Any ideas? Even thinking is it worth to fix it, maybe replacement of an engine actually good idea? How common these problems are, or I'm here alone with my bad luck?.. That didn't worked out for me, but solution I found in audi forums worked well in my case. Here it is: "Turn ignition on All the way down, press 5 times down, hold it for 3sec at 5th time. All the way up, pull 5 times up hold it for 3sec at 5th time. Do it for all the windows."

For lazy ******s 😊 - My old car. Why the hell you asked that? 😂☺ Mitsubishi Spacestar 2005 🥰😍 How I managed to end up with Škoda? Škoda did worked well on design, I like the design of all models starting 2016 until now. Noise isolation pretty good to not care about noise engine, and diesel cost less than petrol. 🙃 And I kinda enjoying the fact that I can drink my coffee while I'm moving out at green traffic light. Or just enjoying picking my nose while moving in stop and go traffic -dsg do all the job.. 😋 I'm tall - 1.93m with driver seat full back, still have space for myself behind driver seat. How spacious is that! 🤪 Looks like I have something to say, I was wrong in my first greeting post 🙂
