  1. Hello Skoda friends My '95 Felicia Combi had weird electrical issues, like non-working blinkers and the right-hand side tail and running lights not working. The fuses were fine, but we measured some weird voltages coming from the fuse box, like 6V. Also, pushing my measuring pin on bolt where the fat red 12V supply wire was screwed down made my blinkers work suddenly. So we decided to take it apart. Loosen the fuse box by pushing the hinge aside. Make pictures of all connectors and their colors, although they can only fit in one way. Remove all connectors by pushing on the tab on the far end of the fuse box. Unscrew the 10mm nut for the 12V wire. Take the box out of the car and put it on a large, clean surface. Snap another photo for the fuse colors and the relay positions. Very carefully pry the plastic parts apart, they are snapped together with plastic hooks all around, some 40 of them. If you get one off, keep it as level as possible. The internal wiring of the fuse box is made by solid copper strips in three layers. These copper strips are folded and pierce through the plastic layers to form the connector mating pieces. The other end is folded twice and these two prongs squeeze the flat connectors of the relays and the fuses. Do examine these prongs: they can become corroded. I had to sand three of them back to bare copper and adjust the distance to ensure a good contact. The only non-copper part in the box is the steel bolt for the 12V wire: this was a bit corroded after 26 years. Skoda saved €0.05 by using a steel bolt instead of a copper one. I soldered the bolt to the large 12V copper plane. All copper strips have a unique shape and the plastic parts have shallow indents where the strips should go, but don;t let them tumble to the floor, it will cost you an hour to put them all back. The plastic parts that hold the relay connectors only fit in one way too but it requires some careful inspection to see where they fit. It turned out that my blinker relay needed reflowing as well. I put everything back together and it worked. All my electrical gremlins were gone.
