If you're saying the dealers use the smaller shops it'll probably be worth my time to find/use a smaller outlet. There's a couple by where I work as I'd have to go in the week. Seems like the main dealers just lap the money up while pawning jobs off to the garages with the knowhow.

I'm under the impression the 1.4 had the DQ200 and have heard that the clutches can be reset with some equipment over 2 grand. It's understandable that local garages won't want to invest in a costly piece of equipment for the 'DSG'. I've phoned a couple places who won't touch the car so I might be forced to go down the Dealer route for diagnostics at least (Trust Skoda Dealer). Should have stuck with the manual lol. With only 15k on the clock at 4 years old I wouldn't have expected any issues.

I haven't been to the dealer for the service I had, but the cars only at 15k miles for a 2017 car. It is a reputable garage though. I might see if I can find a local VAG specialist to take a look, I want to avoid an expensive dealer visit if possible. I think i've lost trust due to high prices and bad stories.

I assume the software fix will have to come from a Skoda dealer? That's always been a fear that the DSG box will need replacing, which is crazy expensive. I don't suppose this is covered by VAG as the car is over 3 years old (67 reg)

It’s a 1.4 tsi. Could this still be the potential issue? Would this be something easy to get analysed or would the box need removing?

When accelerating a bit quicker than a standard drive I am getting a squeal between 3rd and 4th gear. I have tried finding a video with the same issue but I have found nothing. Just wondering if this is an issue to keep an eye on or even get checked over? I'll post a video clip when I get the chance as it's an odd noise.
