Hello world! I enjoy cars but haven't ever done any mechanics. Got a 2011 Octavia Elegance 2TDi, remapped by celtic tuning which brought it from 130 to 200bhp. Love the car, super practical and fun to drive. Looks a bit silly with small rims and high clearance.
I have ideas for mods, but am I wasting my time on a 100k milage non-VRS model? Or can I mod it so it more closely resembles a VRS? Any recommendations would be great. Keep in mind I can't do any of this work myself due to lack of skills/space/tools.
Here's what I'd like to do:
1. Black VRS rims (18"?) + mid range tyres 2. New coilover so a bit lower and a bit stiffer (not slammed as we've lots of potholes nearby, want it to still be comfortable)
3. EGR delete if another remap required (just remove valve toggle from software during map, keep parts in)
4. Steering wheel e.g. Sparco 380 or OMP RS. Mainly for comfort - reduced vibrations. Would this actually reduce vibrations? If not, is it possible to change it to one with electric volume controls?
5. Change front/rear bumper and skirts. Any idea where from / how I could know what will fit?
Any other mods you'd recommend? E.g. upgrading brakes or clutch? Turbo for fun? Injectors? I'm outta my depth now.
Car needs to stay reliable and comfortable for driving trips / holidays across UK (Europe when we can).
